Best Target Black Friday Deals

Published

on

The Target Black Friday ad includes some great tech deals, but those hoping to score the best deals will have to skip out on their families on Thanksgiving. Target has the best iPad Air Black Friday deal we’ve seen so far and some good deals on the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. There are a handful of other solid Black Friday tech deals at Target worth buying, but unfortunately the retailer isn’t guaranteeing that any of its advertised gadgets will be in stock for any period of time.

Target’s Black Friday ad spans 37 pages, with the first 8 featuring technology products. While there are generous savings in other departments, it’s safe to say the retailer is catering to gadget buyers this holiday season.

Competition to score the best deals will be fierce. Black Friday sales are starting earlier and earlier, with Target opening its doors at 8PM this year. Even those willing to stand in line all day Thanksgiving are not guaranteed any of these deals. While some retailers like Walmart guarantee that some of its most attractive deals will be valid for anyone that makes it through the doors the first hour of the sale, Target simply notes that there will be limited quantities of its most attractive merchandise and that there will be no rain checks.

Target\'s iPad mini Black Friday Deal

Target\'s iPad mini Black Friday Deal

Target will be selling the 16GB  iPad Air for $479, a $20 discount off its MSRP.  That might not sound like a deal worth standing in line for at first glance, but Target is throwing in a $100 gift card to sweeten the deal. The gift card can be used on any item at Target's online or retail stores, but it cannot be used on the iPad Air itself. That means Black Friday shoppers will have to pay the full $479 price plus tax and use the gift card for a future purchase.  The free gift card effectively lowers the iPad Air's price to just $379, which is cheaper than the iPad mini with Retina display's standard $399 price tag. Target is offering a $75 gift card with the purchase of the 16GB iPad mini, which will cost the standard $299 on Black Friday. The free $75 gift card brings the total cost of the iPad mini down to $225, which is a fantastic deal.  It's important to note that the iPad mini Target and others are promoting on Black Friday is last year's model, which doesn't include the high-resolution Retina display. Walmart is offering a slightly better deal on the iPad mini by offering a $100 gift card on Black Friday and guaranteeing that it'll be in stock for at least one hour after doors open at 6PM on Thanksgiving. Just a comment about some of the “deals”. Walmart, as just one example, has a seven inch Nextbook tablet with a dual core processor on sale for $69.99. Last week, while shopping for Christmas for the same tablet, with a leather case, it was sold at $59.99 and included a leather case. Not an indictment, particularly against Walmart, many retailers engage in this same type of advertising/practice, I’m merely cautioning shoppers to try to be aware of what they are paying for an item and whether or not the retailer is giving you a good deal or if they have actually marked the price up and called it a sale.
