Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Update Rolling Out Slowly in U.S.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update roll out continues inside of the United States today as the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is the latest update to hit owners of the 5.5-inch former flagship.

All the way back in October, Samsung announced that it would be rolling out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates to the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. U.S. carriers were mum on release dates though a leaked document suggested that the carriers would push out updates starting in late November. Unfortunately for users in the United States, only one carrier stuck to its rumored roll out date.

In November, we saw Sprint roll outs its Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. The update did not roll out on the day that the leaked schedule suggested but it was fairly close. A few days ago, we saw U.S. Cellular quietly push outs its Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, making it the second big name carrier to produce the Galaxy Note 2’s Android 4.3 software.

This left AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon as the only devices yet to receive the upgrade that brings Samsung KNOX security, Samsung Galaxy Gear support and several enhancements and fixes including the Galaxy Note 3’s improved Multi-Window View. Today, one of those carriers finally perked up and it’s T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 users that are the lucky ones.

While T-Mobile hasn’t announced anything just yet, it’s clear that the update is indeed rolling out. We expect the carrier to upgrade its software support page soon to reflect the update’s status. It appears that the update is available through an OTA upgrade or through Samsung Kies. Those who wish to skip the OTA can simply install it manually through Samsung Kies and get it up and running in no time.

From what we’ve heard, the update is massive, checking in at over 600MB on size which means that T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 users are going to have to be patient during the download and installation process.

T-Mobile becomes the third carrier to release the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update with AT&T and Verizon users still waiting for their upgrades. Neither carriers has announced update plans which means that users will more than likely have to wait in the dark as the companies work to upgrade their large screened former flagships.

Users may want to hold off for a few days at least so as to ensure that the coast is clear. Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 owners in the United States have been complaining about issues with these updates and it’s possible that the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 will have some problems of its own.

Verizon will always be last. Always. Time to move to a provider less interested in bloating up the software and delaying upgrades when they’re available.

Idk why the heck your complaining about a software everyones having a problem with i mean Verizon has THE BEST service and your complaining about a software update that has nothing to do with Verizon the only the they do is push it to the phones after samsung makes the firmware HINTS thats WHY THEY DONT KNOW when its gunna drop. So stop being a bitch and suck it up.

Wow, you really don’t know how these software updates work, do you? Or punctuation for that matter.

Samsung provides the carriers with the base image of what they include on their unlocked phones, and the carriers modify it to their liking. A good example is Verizon taking out the Wi-Fi toggle and blocking mode on the Galaxy S3 and the Note 2 on 4.1.2. Then the carrier has to do their testing to make sure everything works on their network. Verizon is almost always the last carrier to release their updates. Just look at the VZW Galaxy Nexus that still doesn’t have 4.3.

So yes, the carriers do know when they are going to release it, and they tend to drag their feet without ever communicating to the customers.

I agree, if only the other carriers would beef up their coverage and data speeds, I would leave Verizon in a heart beat.

All i want from samung is to give the note2 more S pen features, if they are not part of the update then i for one will not be updating my phone. Samsung skipped 4.2 and i’ve decided to skip 4.3 in favour of 4.4 if and when that arrives for the note2.
