How to Get Android 4.4.2 KitKat For Nexus 4, 5, 7 & 10

The rollout of Android 4.4 KitKat has been a confusing one for many, especially you Nexus 4 owners that had to wait far longer than anyone expected. Thankfully though the update to Google’s latest OS version finally arrived for almost all recent Nexus devices.

After Android 4.4. KitKat first arrived, we quickly received a bump to Android 4.4.1 KitKat late last week. Oddly enough though, Google wasn’t done yet because as of this afternoon a new improvement to Android 4.4.2 KitKat is rolling out to the Nexus 4, 5 and both the old and new Nexus 7 tablet. While many of you are still waiting for 4.4.1 to arrive, we’ve already received Android 4.4.2, and below we’ll show you where to get it.

The update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat will bring your device to build KOT49H, and it’s nearly the same as the 4.4.1 release last week. The main changes are regarding the camera for KitKat and the Nexus 5, but there’s a slew of software patches and bug fixes as we mentioned in our original post this morning, and linked to above.

The problem here is some of you are on 4.4.1, but almost everyone else is still on Android 4.4 and have yet to receive the first small update. For those familiar with Nexus devices, a quick download of the official OTA file from Google’s servers will let you sideload and update your device of choice with ease, rather than wait for the update to arrive. This won’t be a full walkthough of how to do so, as that’s for another day, instead we’ll show you where and how to get the correct file for your Nexus 4, 5, 7 and 10. Most should already know how to sideload an OTA update zip. Below are the downloads for each device, and for each version of Android. Thanks to AndoidPolice.
