5 Best Verizon Smartphones [December, 2013]

The year is almost over which means that carriers have now put forth the devices that will be taking them into the new year and beyond. Fortunately, carriers like Verizon are chock full of smartphone options and fantastic options at that, the only issue is trying to narrow down the best of the best. Here, we take a look at what we consider to be the best smartphones on Verizon right now.

This year was very kind to carriers in the United States. Not only did we see top of the line Android and Windows Phones emerge but we also saw two brand new iPhone models from Apple come out of the woodwork to challenge their rivals. Unsurprisingly, many of those smartphones landed on the nation’s largest 4G LTE service provider, Verizon Wireless.

Verizon spent much of the year celebrating a job well done. The carrier became the first U.S. carrier to completely deploy its 4G LTE network and right now, the carrier is working on delivering VoLTE to its customers, a service that has unfortunately been pushed back to 2014. It has also spent much of the year shoring up its smartphone lineup ahead of the holidays and the beginning of 2014, something that is both exciting and overwhelming.

Exciting, because Verizon currently hosts some of the best smartphones around. Overwhelming because there are simply an insane amount of smartphones available on its 4G LTE network thanks to the carrier keeping around several flagships from last year’s crop. Like any carrier, Verizon has smartphones that stand out amongst the rest of the pack. Whether it’s hardware, software support, price, or something else, there are phones that we feel symbolize the best that Verizon has to offer.

Here, right in the thick of the holiday shopping season, we want to share those devices in an attempt to alleviate any difficulties shoppers might be having. here now are what we consider to be the five best Verizon smartphones for the month of December, 2013.

iPhone 5s

iPhone 5s

The iPhone 5s remains a top option on Verizon's 4G LTE network, something that should come as a surprise to absolutely no one given that it's Apple's top flight iPhone and a smartphone that has only been on shelves for a few months.

Apple's new iPhone combines the design and screen of the iPhone 5 with a brand new 64-bit A7 processor, upgraded 8MP camera, three new colors, and the TouchID fingerprint reader that is embedded in the device's home button for added security and convenience.

The iPhone 5s is unlikely to get any cheaper at Verizon but shoppers can buy into the iPhone 5s knowing that they are going to get several years of software support, support that will last through any contract.
