Amazon Christmas Shipping Deadlines Begin Tomorrow

Published

on

If you’re like many folks and do most of your Christmas shopping on Amazon, then you should be aware of the Amazon Christmas ordering cutoff dates that the company has set. These dates signify the last day that you can order something and guarantee that you receive it in time for Christmas.

For starters, tomorrow, December 17, is the last day to order something on Amazon if you use the website’s Free Super Saver shipping option (5-8 business days), which you can take advantage of if your order exceeds $35. Granted, while Amazon says tomorrow is the last day to order something in order to guarantee that it comes before Christmas, you may get it well before then depending on how close you live to an Amazon distribution center, but tomorrow is the last day for those folks that take the longest to receive a package.

As for Amazon’s Standard shipping (3-5 business days), the last day to order something to guarantee a delivery before Christmas is Wednesday, December 18. Standard shipping is a bit quicker than the Free Super Saver shipping option, but you’ll be paying for it on a per item basis, and the cost varies depending on what you order.

Christmas shipping deadlines benefit Amazon Prime customers the most, as they can take advantage of cheap $3.99 one-day shipping and order items as late as Monday, December 23 and have it arrive the next day on Christmas Eve. However, if you’d rather take advantage of the free two-day shipping, you can order as late as Saturday, December 21 in order to guarantee a delivery before Christmas Day.

If you live in bigger cities around the US, you can take advantage of Amazon’s local delivery service on Christmas Eve, which will land you same-day shipping on a variety of goods and items. Amazon’s Local Express Delivery is available in Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Indianapolis, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Seattle, San Bernardino area in California, Washington DC, and parts of New Jersey.

Keep these dates in mind when you’re doing some last-minute Christmas shopping, and if you don’t have Amazon Prime, but know someone who does, try and see if you can get them to share their free two-day shipping with you.
