Galaxy S3 & Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Updates: New Details

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates are almost complete. Even as we near their completion, there are still a number of Android 4.3 update details trickling out for Galaxy S3  and Galaxy Note 2 users.

For weeks, Samsung and its various carriers have been pushing out Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates. The updates, which bring an assortment of features ranging from Samsung Galaxy Gear support to features borrowed from the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3, have graced most devices in the United States and devices in regions around the world. There are, however, still some stragglers waiting to get their upgrade.

One of those stragglers is the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which is the last of the Galaxy Note variants in the United States on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. We still haven’t seen any details roll out regarding the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update but we have seen movement on a couple of other fronts.

December could bring the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update release in some regions, with Galaxy Note 3 features.

Earlier today, the Cricket Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update started rolling out to its user base. The update follows in the footsteps of the Verizon Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update that rolled out yesterday, weeks after its competitors received their upgrades. The Cricket version of the software is rolling out Over-the-Air and it’s going to hit owners over the course of the next few days as the companies work to push it out across devices.

We’ve heard from MetroPCS owners who are wondering where their Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update might be. Unfortunately, the only update we have on that is a brief message from MetroPCS on its Facebook page wherein the carrier states that the update will prompt users when it’s available. That, to us, is a clear sign that something is on its way, it’s just a matter of when.

We’ve also seen some movement in regard to the Galaxy Note 2. French carrier SFR announced yesterday that it hopes to validate the Android 4.3 update for its Galaxy Note 2 between Christmas and New Year’s, putting the release somewhere in early January of next year. This is a little later than originally expected but users will be thankful that the company is communicating these time frames.

Australian carrier Telstra continues to update its software update page and Galaxy Note 2 owners should know that nothing has changed. The carrier still says that it’s planning to roll the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update out on December 23rd. The schedule was updated on Wednesday, which means that there is a good chance that the carrier could adhere to its promise.

It’s clear that the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean roll outs are finally coming to an end, in the United States and elsewhere, and device owners have more than likely started to keep an eye on the future.

Already, we’ve seen Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat updates confirmed and we’ve seen Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat updates rumored. Samsung itself hasn’t said anything yet and it likely won’t until the new year arrives. For now, Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 users on Android 4.3 will need to make do with what they have and those who still haven’t received their Android 4.3

I’m claiming this right now the Verizon Note 2 won’t get the update until late January 2014. Why bc Verizon sucks ass and if they had a face is punch it. The horse shit when people say to be patient is ridiculous every other Galaxy on VZW has the update yet I keep seeing other phones on VZW everyday getting updates except the Note 2. There’s no reason other than VZW trying to bogged down the Note 2 with their shitty apps that no one who has a rational brain would use. I hate VZW.

Everyone getting the 4.3 update but we are waiting for unlocked international version which is still in the dark. Some sites were claiming that carrier networks get update after unlocked version, but the condition is just opposite…

I’m in Nigeria and I’ve been waiting for the 4.3 update for weeks now if not months. I do not know how to root my galaxy s3 if not…..I even contacted SamsungSupportUS but they said they can’t assist me bc I’m not in the US. I think I just might change my phone all together bc I don’t know why one would have to wait till next year.
