LG Lifeband Touch Leaks Ahead of CES

Published

Wearables are the next big thing, at least according to the multiple companies all jumping in the arena, and today we’re getting our first look at what we can expect early next year from LG. From Google Glass to smartwatches and fitness trackers, everyone wants to offer a wearable computing device.

Paired to our smartphones and mobile devices Google Glass, smartwatch options, and even fitness trackers will be big in 2014, and were even quite popular throughout 2013. While we’ve seen a few of these from LG in the past, none were ever released, and now we’re seeing what’s being called the LG Lifeband Touch ahead of the CES unveil.

Thanks to the popular leakster @evleaks we’re getting a glance at LG’s fitness tracker and wearable before CES, which is where many are expecting it to make a debut. With a similar look the the popular Nike FuelBand or FitBit, the LifeTouch appears to have a display on front (hence the name Touch) and will be quite the fitness companion.

The image above is all we know at this point, and we’re assuming the “touch” aspect is top center just to the right of that glowing green button, which is where you’ll see the time, calorie counter, battery life, and anything else integrated from LG.

Last year LG teased something similar at CES that offered connectivity to apps, smartphones, and TVs, had GPS, and of course tracked motion, as shown above, but sadly it never reached store shelves. We could be seeing this new model tied into LG’s smartphone and smart TV plans in 2014. Expect a companion app for Android, iOS, and even your LG-powered smart TV in the near future.
