The Samsung Galaxy S5 launch date, according to one industry insider, could land in March with a Galaxy S5 release date taking place weeks after, possibly in May. He also speculates that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will miss Mobile World Congress 2014 and that the Galaxy F name that has been flying around is an internal name, not a retail one.

For several weeks now, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has been the talk of the town, thanks to the great number of rumors that have surfaced on a near daily basis. The device is rumored to be taking the place of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and it’s rumored to be doing so with a number of brand new features.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 may use a Note 3 feature to slim down further.

Galaxy S5 rumors suggest that the device could be equipped with a brand new 5.2-inch QHD display with high-resolution and a 520 pixel-per-inch count.

These rumors have been backed today by a report from Digi Tech which claims that the Galaxy S5 will use a 5.25-inch QHD panel made by Sharp. The report claims that Samsung won’t use one of its own AMOLED displays, something that Samsung has historically used on its flagship smartphones. It cites supply difficulties with Samsung’s own 2K AMOLED displays as the reason for the change.

Other rumors say that the Galaxy S5 could tout a 16MP camera, Android 4.4 KitKat, and quite possibly, a metal design. They also have pegged the Galaxy S5 launch date for Mobile World Congress 2014 in late February though this date has now been thrown into flux by an industry insider.

According to Eldur Murtazin, the Samsung Galaxy S5 won’t be announced at MWC 2014 in Barcelona, Spain. Instead, he believes that the Samsung Galaxy S5, like the Galaxy S4, will be announced in March ahead of a release date in April or May. He claims that some European capitals are under consideration for the launch, a sign that the company may not announce the Galaxy S5 in the United States.

Murtazin, who has been correct about unofficial information in the past, also claims that the Samsung Galaxy F name that has been floating around pertains to the rumored metal Galaxy S5. He claims that the F in the name stands for “Fashion” and that the name is an internal name only, not a retail one.

Galaxy S5 rumors have been back and forth on the existence of a metal Galaxy S5. Rumors have pointed to two Galaxy S5 models, one premium and one cheap, perhaps made of plastic.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is expected to replace the Galaxy S4 as the company’s flagship smartphone and the device is expected to challenge the likes of the iPhone 5s, HTC M8 and iPhone 6 in the coming year.

Good article on Samsung Galaxy S5 provides extra details on its features. I guess we have to wait for the mwc 2014 to see what they got for their customers and fans. I have also done an article on the same topic here
