Boogie Board Takes Handwritten Notes Digital

Published

on

Boogie Board is an LCD eWriter that brings the power of handwritten notes digital. Rather than have users write their notes on post-its, Boogie Board is an electronic notepad that comes with its own stylus and allows you to synchronize and save your notes to your phone, tablet, or PC over a Bluetooth connection. Users can also store their notes in the cloud as well through Evernote.

At its heart, the Boogie Board is a digital notepad that aims to replace your physical notepad. And rather than having physical pages like a standard notebook, the Boogie Board comes with two buttons–a save and an erase button. After you fill a page, you can save it and/or erase it.

The Boogie Board comes in multiple sizes, and the model that we looked at is called the Boogie Board Sync. The Sync has a 9.7-inch display and costs about $100.

The nice thing about the Boogie Board is that it feels more closer to writing with a pencil on paper as the screen has a grittiness to it that makes it less slippery to write on than if you were to write with a stylus on a glass screen of a tablet. Additionally, the finer point of the stylus tip for the Boogie Board is smaller, so writing feels more accurate than if you were to write with a larger-tipped capacitive touchscreen stylus.

The Boogie Board is great for taking quick notes on the go, but it may not be the best tablet to write on for longer materials, like fully capturing notes in a lecture or business meeting.
