Lepow Smart Pack: A Beautiful Customizable Bag For Your Commute

Published

on

The Lepow ADD Powerbank wasn’t the only Lepow product that caught our eye at CES 2014. The Hong Kong-based company also showed us a sleek bag, dubbed the Smart Pack, that doubles as a backpack and a messenger bag and has built-in capabilities that will appeal to geeks who are constantly on-the-go.

Most of Lepow’s announcements at CES 2014 centered around its brand new cases and battery packs. However, the company also debuted a brand new bag called the Smart Pack that it hopes will catch on with those that commute to class or work or are simply in need of a new, elegant bag to house their electronics and books.

The Smart Pack is unassuming at first. When we first encountered it, it looked like a standard backpack for storing gadgets, perfect for those that ride their bike to work. Then, the transformation began. Lepow’s bag is able to transform into a stylish messenger bag within seconds. It left us extremely impressed. Fortunately, the bag doesn’t stop there.

Lepow’s one hundred percent leather pack also offers functionality fit for those who want to stay connected to their phone while traveling. The bag can connect to a smartphone through Bluetooth and if a call or text comes in, it will start vibrating via a node located on the strap. It may not seem like much but it’s a nice little touch to a bag that had already caught our attention thanks to its design.

It’s stylish, smart and unassuming, something that certainly should bode well for it when it finally arrives on shelves. Lepow unfortunately was unable to commit to a specific price point or release date though they said that they were hoping to have it out sometime in the second quarter of the year.

On the inside, there are plenty of sleeves and pockets that can hold an iPad, MacBook Pro or MacBook Air, and more with ease. When in backpack mode, the bag itself measures 18-inches by 14-inches. When in messenger back mode, it’s 12 inches by 14-inches.

If the company is able to keep the Smart Pack’s price reasonable enough, it has a good chance of catching on with those that want a solid backpack or messenger bag to carry and use with their gadgets.
