iOS 7.1 Jailbreak Less Likely After Fifth Beta Release

Apple released the fifth beta of iOS 7.1 today, coming with a handful of bug fixes and various performance improvements. However, one question that jailbreakers have on their minds is whether or not the iOS 7.1 jailbreak is less or more likely with this fifth beta. Unsurprisingly, it looks less likely.

The Evasi0n 7 exploit was already slightly patched up on iOS 7.1 beta 4, but it appears that Apple has made further progress with the patch, but not fully covering everything up just yet. There’s still hope that Apple won’t patch up everything that the Evasi0n team needs to get to, but the general consensus is that the Cupertino-based company will 100% patch it up with the final release of iOS 7.1.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that we will never see an iOS 7.1 jailbreak, but the Evad3rs dev team will have to work on yet another exploit in order to get past the one that has been blocked by the boys and girls in Cupertino.

iOS 7.1 jailbreak

It’s possible that we’ll see one or two more betas of iOS 7.1 before it reaches Gold Master status, meaning that there’s still more time for Apple to 100% fully patch up the jailbreak exploit before it even releases the Gold Master version.

We aren’t too worried, though, as last year’s iOS 6.1 saw a jailbreak eventually (and it was unsurprisingly patched up again with the release of iOS 6.1.3). Thus, we wouldn’t be surprised to see an iOS 7.1 jailbreak at some point after the official release of the update, but don’t expect the jailbreak to arrive the day of or even a few days after.

With that said, we’d advise you to stay away from the iOS 7.1 update if you’re jailbroken. Even when iOS 7.1 releases, you can still stay on iOS 7.0.4 without a problem; you’ll just miss out on any of the new features in iOS 7.1, which you’ll most likely have to go without for about a month before an iOS 7.1 jailbreak is eventually released.
