iPhone 6 Concept Video Brings Rumors to Life

A new iPhone 6 concept video brings iPhone 6 rumors to life, showing off what could happen if Apple does decide to go with two new iPhone models to replace the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c.

In just a few weeks, Samsung will announce its Galaxy S5, a device that it hopes will compete against the likes of the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c, Apple’s two iPhone models that arrived back in September. At some point later this year, as it always every year, Apple is likely to release a brand new iPhone better equipped to take on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC M8, and any other major smartphone rumored for 2014.

iPhone 6 rumors suggest that the device could come with a number of upgraded specifications including a new camera and a brand new A8 processor. The iPhone 6 is also heavily rumored to be coming with a brand new display, perhaps two brand new displays, to better compete with the likes of the Galaxy S5 and finally deliver the big screen iPhone experience many consumers have been looking for.

Credible rumors point to the company introducing two new iPhone 6 models, one in the 4.7-inch range and one in the 5.5-inch range.

The Wall Street Journal believes the company will deliver a 4.5-inch and a 5+-inch display. NPD DisplaySearch believes that two iPhone 6 models with higher resolution displays will be coming in 2014. A KDB Daewoo Securities report uncovered by OLED-Display includes two iPhone 6 display sizes. Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, who accurately predicted many iPhone 5s features, thinks Apple is planning an iPhone 6 with a screen between 4.5-inches and 5-inches.

  • 4.7-inch to 4.8-inch display – 1920 x 1080 resolution – KDB
  • 4.5-inch to 5-inch display – Kuo
  • 5+ inch display – WSJ
  • 5.5-inch display – 1920 x 1080 resolution – NPD
  • 5.5-inch display – 2272 x 1280 resolution – KDB

While Gotta Be Mobile has already given prospective iPhone 6 buyers a look at what the size increase might look like, designers are busy creating their own iPhone 6 concepts showcasing larger screens and rumored specs.

A new iPhone 6 concept video from ConceptsiPhone depicts two new iPhone 6 models, one with a 5.5-inch display, the other with a 4.7-inch display, next to the 4-inch iPhone 5s. The concept also includes a curved display, illuminated buttons on the side and illuminated Touch ID, Touch ID being the fingerprint reader embedded in the home button.

The small bump at the top of the concepts likely won’t come on board the real iPhone 6 but other than that, these designs show just how Apple could produce larger iPhones will incorporating a premium design.

Apple’s real iPhone 6 isn’t likely to debut until at least the summer. There are also rumors that suggest that we could see the device land during the fall, just like last year’s iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. Rumors suggest that Apple will kill off the iPhone 5c, the cheap plastic iPhone model, in favor of a larger-screened iPhone.

The Wall Street Journal believes that Apple will use a similar anodized aluminum design for its new iPhone 6. The overall design remains a mystery and likely will remain in the shadows until much closer to launch.

For now, prospective iPhone 6 buyers will have to wade through rumors and concepts as they attempt to pinpoint and showcase various iPhone 6 features ahead of Apple’s announcement.
