A new Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update release date has emerged for the United States thanks to a leaked document that points to a new Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 release later on this week.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update is live in the United States though it remains limited to users of Sprint’s Galaxy S4. That looks like it’s going to change in the near future.

Android Central, the site that accurately leaked the Sprint Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update release date, has produced new evidence that points to a brand new Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat release date in the United States.

The leaked document pegs the U.S. Cellular Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat release date for February 19th, two days from now. The release date is obviously not confirmed but given that the Sprint update is out, and given the site’s track record, there is reason to believe that the update will turn up on that date.

U.S. Cellular calls the Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update a “maintenance release” which alludes to the update’s small stature. Sprint’s Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update was a small incremental update and every other Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update in the United States is expected to be the same.

The document suggests that the Daily Perks and MobiTiles apps will both be pulled from the software though there don’t appear to be any other significant or unique changes on board.

It also appears that this is a staged roll out which means that U.S. Cellular will push the update in stages. That means it will roll out slowly at first before it pushes out to a majority of Galaxy S4 users in the days after its initial release.

Release dates for the AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat updates remain out of reach though carriers typically update within a few weeks of each other. Historically, it has been Verizon that’s last to major updates.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat roll out is hitting the United States ahead of the rest of the world. The international roll out is limited to two variants in Korea though it appears that Samsung is making progress with its testing.

A Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update recently leaked for the GT-I9505 with a build date of January 28th, a sign that more Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat updates are on the way. Samsung typically takes several weeks to completely push out big software updates and often, it can take up to a few months.

When the U.S. Cellular Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 update is made available the carrier, and Samsung, will post the details on their websites detailing the changes including the build number.
