5 Best Smartphones [March, 2014]

Published

on

Those looking for a new smartphone in March will have a ton of options. However, there are smartphones that stand above the rest, devices that should be more than just blips on the radar. Here, for those in the hunt, we take a look at the devices we consider to be the five best smartphones for this month in particular.

This year got off to a slow start. CES 2014 in Las Vegas saw the debut of several smartphones but only two of those devices caught our eye. In February, we saw Mobile World Congress produce several new smartphones but it was the Samsung Galaxy S5 that stole the show. Samsung’s Galaxy S5 won’t arrive until April though which means that those who are looking for a new phone in March won’t have access to it.

Point is, the smartphone landscape is currently dominated by smartphones from last year. Fortunately for consumers in the hunt, that’s not a bad thing. Last year’s smartphone crop was incredible.

We saw the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One, two of the best smartphones ever made. We saw Motorola come back into prominence with the Moto X and Moto G. LG released its most interesting flagship in years in the LG G2. We also saw Apple roll out the iPhone 5s and Google release the Nexus 5. With many 2014 flagships still out of reach, these remain amongst the cream of the crop.

And while there might be a shortage of new devices in 2014, there isn’t a shortage of devices as a whole. Those who are looking for a smartphone this month are going to encounter an absurd number of choices.

Here, in an effort to help those who might need some help this month, we break down the devices we think are the five best smartphones for the month of March 2014.

Our list may differ from yours but these are the devices that Gotta Be Mobile editors have selected for recognition in March. We feel like they deliver the best, all-around package at the moment. Something else to keep in mind is that this list will change month-to-month as more devices get released.

iPhone 5s

iPhone 5s

Apple's iPhone 5s remains a top option thanks to its fantastic hardware, which includes a solid camera, and software that will continue to get updated for years to come.

The price of the iPhone 5s hasn't dropped since it was released back in September but that doesn't make it any less attractive. This is a device that lives up to its $199.99 price tag.

From its industrial design, to its Retina Display, to its camera, to its 64-bit processor, this is a device that is built to last for the long haul. It deserves to be near the top of smartphone shoppers lists.
