Consumers in the hunt for a brand new T-Mobile smartphone are going to encounter a number of top choices though the sheer number of choices will probably make it difficult to narrow things down. Here, in an effort to do just that, we want to take a look at the five devices we make up the five best T-Mobile smartphones this month.

Last year was an exciting time for T-Mobile. The carrier finally introduced the iPhone and iPad to its network. It banished contracts and started to offer all of its smartphones off-contract. It introduced a number of incentives to help lure in smartphone owners from carriers like AT&T and Verizon, and on top of that, it launched its 4G LTE network to compete with the other carriers.

With all of these attractive features, 2014 figures to be a big year for the Magenta carrier. Helping matters is the fact that T-Mobile also boasts an extensive collection of smartphones. The carrier offers just about every top-of-the-line smartphone on the market including the brand new Sony Xperia Z1s that launched at CES.

Having that kind of choice is fantastic but it also can be troublesome for those who may not have a keen grasp on the smartphones that dot the landscape at the moment.

Every month we offer our opinion on the first best smartphones for all four major U.S. carriers. We’ve already taken a look at the best that AT&T and Verizon have to offer and now, it’s time to take a look at T-Mobile’s lineup.

When deciding on the smartphones that make this list, we take a number of things into consideration including hardware, software, age, and price. The devices that make the final cut are the devices that we consider to be the best all-around devices on a given network.

That said, for those who are in the hunt right now, we present the devices we consider to be the five best T-Mobile smartphones for the month of March, 2014.

The iPhone 5s is one of T-Mobile's premier smartphones and it will likely stay atop our monthly list all the way up until the iPhone 6 arrives later on this year.

Apple's iPhone is a solid, all-around smartphone. It delivers a fantastic camera, display, 64-bit processor, software experience, design, and excellent software support to its owners. This is a device that deserves to be on any smartphone shopping list in the month of March.
