Android 4.4.3 KitKat Release Rumored

Published

on

An Android 4.4.3 KitKat update release is reportedly on the way as a well known insider says that an Android 4.4.3 build KTU72B is currently in testing and should hit HTC devices at some point in the future.

In November, Google pushed out its last Android 4.4 KitKat update in the form of Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The update, which improved the Nexus 5 camera and delivered fixes to other Nexus users, has since spread to other devices including the HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

In the weeks since the Android 4.4.2 KitKat roll out, we’ve heard from device owners and Nexus users in particular who claim to be experiencing a number of issues inside Android 4.4.2. These issues have led many to cry out for an Android 4.4.3 KitKat update with fixes for major issues plaguing Google’s software.

Google still hasn’t announced an Android 4.4.3 KitKat update but there are signs that a new KitKat update could be on the way. Last week, a new KitKat update for the Nexus 5 (build KTU65) appeared in testing, a sign that a new update could be on the way for Nexus users. And today, more important evidence has surfaced as well known leakster LlabTooFeR claims that an Android 4.4.3 KitKat update is in testing.

He reveals that the build is KTU72B and that it will fix a camera bug. He does not suggest a release date nor does he confirm the update for specific devices though he notes that software release dates for several HTC devices could shift because of Android 4.4.3. This implies that it could land for a number of devices including the HTC One.

This source has been correct about software updates before so it’s safe to assume that there will be an Android 4.4.3 KitKat roll out at some point in the future. New Android builds usually land for Nexus owners first so we expect Android 4.4.3 KitKat to be delivered to the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 10, and Nexus 7 before it’s delivered to the HTC One.

Rumors suggest that Google is planning a major Android update for this summer. A report suggests that the name of the update will be Android 4.5 though it’s not clear if it will be a KitKat update or something else. The update is reportedly going to land after Google I/O and do so with a new Nexus tablet, thought to be Nexus 8 from HTC with an 8.9-inch display.

Android should take an initiative to sort out the matter of battery drainage problem which I still facing in my Nexus 5 device as I have to put my device twice in a day on wireless charger . Skype already updated their version as many accusing Skype for this concern but the actual fault is in the android 4.4.2 Kitkat version. They should launch 4.4.3 soon to resolve this issue.

I think it will be 4.5 key lime pie, because in Android Wear’s docs, a string said “I love key lime pie!” so that’s my guess.
