LG G Watch “Android Wear” Teased in New Photo

Today LG has revealed a second photo of its upcoming Android Wear Google smartwatch, dubbed the LG G Watch. Following a major Android Wear announcement from Google last week, the details and designs are starting to become a bit more clear.

The LG G Watch will be taking on the Moto 360, which looks to be a more premium product over the square and plastic G Watch, but other manufacturers such as Samsung, HTC, Fossil Watch, and even ASUS will all be partnering with Google to offer their own version. So far we’ve only heard from Motorola and LG, and now we’re getting our second look at the latter of the two.

LG first teased the new G Watch in a rather plain black photo showing as little as possible, aimed at teasing consumers and potential buyers. With Motorola coming out strong with a full video and tons of photos of the upcoming Moto 360, LG is now sharing another photo of what we can expect come later this summer.

The new LG G Watch looks very much like other traditional smartwatches. Offering a rather bland design with a squared design. It isn’t much when compared to the metal and rounded Moto 360, but we’ll have to wait and see what they both have to offer come launch.

Last week Google released the Android Wear developer SDK, and promised more is coming this summer. The company has their annual Google I/O Developer conference scheduled for June 25-26th, and we’re expecting to learn more about Android Wear, and possibly a Google Nexus smartwatch that week.

If previous Google I/O events are any indication, we could see the first of many Android Wear “Google Smartwatch” products arrive inside the month of July, which goes right along with the “this summer” and “launch in Q2 2014” reports from Motorola and LG.
