Xbox One Deals: Roundup & Comparison of Cheapest Xbox One Bundles

Published

on

It’s been roughly five months since Microsoft released the Xbox One, its now current-generation all-in-one entertainment console. At the time of its arrival, many users were concerned that the console’s cost was too high. They worried that gamers and average users wouldn’t see the benefit of paying $499 for an Xbox One, $60 a year for Xbox Live and $60 for each game they’d like to play.

Microsoft seems to have gotten the memo, and there are now a ton of different deals on the Xbox One itself and more than a few related accessories. Here are the most notable ones.

Wal-Mart

Wal-mart’s Xbox One deals on consoles are pretty robust. Today, users can purchase an Xbox One with either Forza 5 or Titanfall plus the console for just $449.99. The Titanfall console bundle also includes a solid month of Xbox Live Gold so that users don’t have to purchase a subscription outside of the bundle for that first month. By comparison, a month ago a user would need to purchase either game for $60 and Xbox Live for $9.99 a month.

Target

Target’s Xbox One deals are even better than what buyers get at Wal-Mart. That same $449.99 will get users a Titanfall or Forza 5 Xbox One bundle, however Target is also throwing in an entire year of Xbox Live Gold. Purchasing a year of Xbox Live Gold would cost users $59.99. It’s definitely a good deal.

Target is also giving away a single game when users pick up two other games at full price.  Titanfall, Madden 25, Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros, Battlefield 4, Ryse: Son of Rome, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Angry Birds: Star Wars, Dead Rising 3, Zoo Tycoon, Tomb Raider Definitive Edition and Thief are all included in the deal. That’s another $60 savings.

Best Buy

Best Buy isn’t offering any Xbox One deals for consoles themselves. To be clear, Xbox One bundles at Best Buy still offer Forza 5 or Titanfall. Best Buy is discounting a single accessory for 15% off. That deal could come in handy for anyone looking to pick up an extra controller or recharging accessory.

All told, Xbox One deals have certainly become more interesting recently. That isn’t necessarily because sales of the console are soft, but more because it’s key for Microsoft to make the Xbox One more compelling than Sony’s PS4. The PS4 costs $399 but doesn’t include a game. Users who want to play online do need a subscription to PlayStation Plus with costs $49.99.

Regardless of which Xbox One deal you choose, you’re getting a slightly better deal than early Xbox One buyers.
