The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 launch date rumors just got specific and they point to an arrival shortly before the start of the IFA 2014, in the same month that is rumored to hold the iPhone 6 release date.

As we head deeper into 2014, we’re starting to hear more and more about Samsung’s plans for later on this year. Rumors suggest that the company has a brand new Galaxy S5 Prime up its sleeve. They also suggest that the it’s planning a high-end Samsung Galaxy Note 3 successor that is currently being dubbed, Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumors have picked up recently and they have hinted at a number of possible features including the device’s display, its design, and more. Today marks the arrival of another Galaxy Note 4 rumor and this new rumor hints at its highly anticipated launch date later on this year. Galaxy Note 3

For the past three years, Samsung has used the IFA trade show to announce, and show off, its Samsung Galaxy Note. Last year’s Galaxy Note 3, for instance, debuted on September 4th shortly before the start of the event. Thus far, Galaxy Note 4 launch rumors have all pointed to an arrival in the fall, and quite possibly, at IFA 2014.

A new report from Android Geeks backs these rumors. The site, which accurately leaked last year’s Galaxy Note 3 launch date, claims that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 launch date will land on September 3rd, or, two days before the start of IFA. The report also suggests that Samsung will send out invites to the event in mid-August.

The Galaxy Note 3 delivers multitasking that actually lets you use two apps at once, compared to the iPhone 5s, which is about switching and some background processes.

This lines up with everything we’ve heard about the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 launch. Earlier this year, Samsung executives confirmed company plans to release a brand new Galaxy Note this fall alongside new wearable technology. A recent report suggested that the company will debut its Google Glass competitor later this year and that it’s working to have it ready by the time IFA 2014 arrives.

If this date is accurate, and there is a chance that it is, it means that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 may not be out until late September or early October. Samsung’s smartphone releases typically come a few weeks after launch. For example, the Galaxy Note 3 launched on September 4th and was first released in late September. The Galaxy S5, its current flagship, launched in late February and arrived in mid-April.

This could put the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on a collision course with the iPhone 6, Apple’s rumored 2014 iPhone. iPhone 6 release date rumors put the new iPhone inside of September. If true, we could see a repeat of last year.

The iPhone 6 screen sizes come into focus as reports firm up on the size and the resolution.

Last year, just days after Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 3, Apple took the stage and showed off the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. And like the Galaxy Note 3, the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c were both released in late September ahead of the holidays and ahead of Black Friday in November.

Rumors suggest that the iPhone 6 could come in two different sizes, a 4.7-inch model and a 5.5-inch model. With Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumors suggesting that the Galaxy Note 4 could retain the Galaxy Note 3’s 5.7-inch screen size, we could finally see true competition between Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 series.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is rumored to have a high-resolution QHD display, a design that is both water and dust resistant like the Galaxy S5, and a high-powered processor that could help it compete with a 64-bit iPhone 6. Rumors also suggest that the device could have a flexible display, something that isn’t rumored for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 is also expected to come in 32GB form and land for the United States’ five largest carriers including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon.
