Android 4.4.3 KitKat Release Still Coming as Google I/O Nears

Published

on

The Android 4.4.3 KitKat release might remain out of reach but according to a well known insider, that doesn’t mean that the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update has been cancelled.

In late March, HTC insider and ROM developer LlabTooFeR suggested that Google was working on an Android 4.4.3 KitKat update to replace Android 4.4.2 KitKat and fix at least one of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat problems plaguing device owners. In the weeks since then, we’ve seen Android 4.4.3 KitKat rumor after rumor. We’ve even seen Google itself leak Android 4.4.3 KitKat deals. However, we still haven’t seen the Android 4.4.3 KitKat release.

While rumors have pointed to a release in either May or June, Android 4.4.3 KitKat is still without a firm release date despite the avalanche of early leaks. As the days go by, Android users are growing impatient and some are beginning to wonder if the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update will ever arrive for Google’s stable of Android smartphones and tablets.

According to the man who leaked the first Android 4.4.3 KitKat rumor, the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update hasn’t been cancelled. LlabTooFeR, in response to a question about the missing update, claims that the update hasn’t been killed off. He doesn’t go into any further detail about the Android 4.4.3 KitKat release or HTC’s plans for it. He only notes that it hasn’t been cancelled.

This is both reassuring and unsurprising. Reassuring because it points to an eventual release of Google’s heavily rumored Android 4.4.3 KitKat update and unsurprising because all signs point to an Android 4.4.3 KitKat update release down the road.

Android 4.4.3 KitKat update rumors have been rampant in recent weeks and it’s clear that Google isn’t the only one with an Android 4.4.3 KitKat update in development.

Sprint announced the update back in April but suspended it a week later for unspecified reasons. Motorola teased the update in its Moto E promotional video. Samsung is rumored to have Android 4.4.3 KitKat in testing for the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4 and we saw the update make a recent appearance on its developer website.

Even Google joined in on the fun when it leaked the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update name on the Play Store and dumped the entire Android 4.4.3 KitKat change log into the AOSP. The change log has since been scrubbed from the AOSP but it detailed every single fix that will be included inside of the update.

The one Android 4.4.3 KitKat detail that remains missing though is the release date. SamMobile claims that the Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.3 KitKat update should roll out in a month or so. LlabTooFeR himself believes that the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update will push to the HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 in May or June though he doesn’t provide specific dates.

There is speculation that Google could use next month’s Google I/O conference to announce Android 4.4.3 KitKat but that remains unconfirmed. Last year, Google did not announce new Nexus products or a new Android update on stage at Google I/O and chose to focus on other initiatives instead.

Rumors continue to point to the arrival of a brand new Nexus 8 tablet though it’s not clear if it will launch at Google I/O or if it will usher in the Android 4.4.3 KitKat era. New Nexus devices always arrive with new Android software but Android 4.4.3 KitKat is expected to be a bug fix update, not a major update.

Android 4.4.3 KitKat is also expected to arrive for the Moto X, Google’s Play Edition devices and the company’s stable of Nexus smartphones and tablets including the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 10, and Nexus 7. Nexus owners have been extremely vocal about the problems plaguing Android 4.4.2 KitKat since November and Android 4.4.3 KitKat appears to be the remedy that they’ve been waiting six months for. It’s just not clear when it will arrive.

As long as they do something fast I don”t care if it”s 4.4.3 or 4.5 4.4.4.7.888. I had a perfectly good phone until the kitkat update. Now I have a phone that is good for a bout 7 hours before having to recharge. Most of the features I loved and used are gone. This update is apiece of crap. Do theses tech guys just sit there and come up with things to change just to have a different operating system? that”s what it looks like!

Why do you idiots continue to report bullshit. Stop reporting based on rumours. Report when you have actual facts. Do you enjoy continuing to renew the same article over and over just to say might be coming .
