MacFixit provided a look at the new iPad Air design ahead of the announcement and this leak shows an opening for an Apple logo on the back. If there is an opening in the final product it may be related to antenna placement, but will not likely light up.

iPhone 6 Release Date Rumors

The iPhone 6 release date is a very interesting piece of the puzzle for retailers, consumers and investors. This week we saw four iPhone 6 release date rumors arrive with one going so far as to include a specific date.

These latest iPhone 6 rumors include a DigiTimes report that narrows the new iPhone release to the fall, much like other rumors. This report includes a month between the production start of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 and according to analyst Peter Misek the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 release is set for November, two months after the anticipated 4.7-inch iPhone 6 arrival.

This information provides more details, but according to apfelpage german carrier Deutsche Telekom the specific iPhone 6 release date is September 19th. It is very unlikely that this carrier, and for that matter front-line customer service representatives, know this far in advance. But, the date would line up with a release before the end of Apple’s fiscal year and previous releases.

Finally, Apple stock (AAPL) is trending up and a new report from UBS analyst suggests it could hit $700 thanks to a large potential for iPhone 6 upgrades this fall.

iPhone 6 Price Rumored

There is a lot of discussion of the iPhone 6 price as analysts see a larger screen and major redesign as costly, and as a good chance for Apple to boost the price of the iPhone.

For months rumors of a higher iPhone 6 price swirled and a new analyst report suggests Apple will keep the price of the iPhone 6 at $650 off contract for the 4.7-inch model. This is the same as the iPhone 5s.

Nomura Securities research says the change will come with the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 that may include a higher price. This would make sense as Samsung and HTC both charger more for the larger smartphones they sell.

Although this is not an iPhone 6 rumor, it is interesting to hear Apple senior vice president Eddy Cue talk about the upcoming 2014 Apple products. In an interview with Re/code Cue tells the audience, “Later this year, we’ve got the best product pipeline that I’ve seen at Apple in my 25 years at Apple,”

Cue doesn’t go so far as to explain what the new products are, but this timeline includes the iPod, original iPhone and iPad — so it’s arguable that the iPhone 6 and other new products are incredible in Cue’s mind.

iPhone 6 with Touch ID

There are multiple reports that the iPhone 6 will support Touch ID, so it is not surprising to see a new report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claiming that Apple plans to include the feature on every iOS device announced this year.

This includes the iPhone 6 models as well as the rumored iPad Air 2 and iPad mini Retina 2014 update. If Apple delivers a new iPod touch 6th generation this year, it too would come with Touch ID.
