Latest Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Rumors Gain Focus

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumors continue to firm up ahead of the device’s highly anticipated launch later this year.

For much of 2014, we’ve heard rumors about a Samsung Galaxy Note 4, a successor to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and a device that will supposedly come with an assortment of powerful features. While nothing is set in stone, Galaxy Note 4 rumors continue to align and we’re starting to see a picture that was at one point extremely muddled start to become more clear.

In the past few weeks we’ve seen a number of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumors attempt to pinpoint various features on board the next-generation Galaxy Note. This week is no different as new bits and pieces of information have emerged point to several very specific features said to be on board Samsung’s Next Big Thing.

Last week, supposed Galaxy Note 4 variants were spotted in the AnTuTu database. Now, it appears that the Galaxy Note 4 and its processing power has been put to the test against various other chips including Tegra K1, Snapdragon 800, and the Snapdragon 801 that appeared inside the Samsung Galaxy S5 earlier this year.

The Galaxy Note 4 could sport a high performance processor.

According to these new benchmarks, the Exynos 5433 chip that’s rumored to be inside some Galaxy Note 4 variants outperforms Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805, another chip said to be inside the Galaxy Note 4. Benchmarks, especially ones as early as these, are inconclusive though they do hint at an extremely powerful smartphone.

SamMobile claims that Samsung is still evaluating both processors and that a final decision on the two has not been made. In fact, the site reports that new models hint at potential Exynos processors for variants on AT&T and T-Mobile, meaning the Snapdragon 805 chipset is not confirmed for arrival inside the Galaxy Note 4 for the United States.

The site also says that it has discovered another Exynos SoC dubbed “HelsinkiPrime”. It’s not clear if this is a new high-performance processor or just another name for the Exynos 5433 chip that’s believed to be called “HelsinkiPro.” Whatever the case may be, the processor inside the Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be supported by a brand new Broadcomm BCM4358 WiFi chip. The device is also said to have a newer NFC chip.

There is also now further support for the two-pronged approach the Samsung will apparent be taking with the Galaxy Note 4. The report claims that the company is working on two different Galaxy Note 4 models and that N910 and the N915 are the two model numbers for these two devices. It’s not clear what will separate these two Galaxy Note 4 models though rumors have suggested that it could be a different in screen type.

One Galaxy Note 4 is thought to have a curved display. That variant is expected to debut in limited markets which could mean that it’s limited to Korea like last year’s Samsung Galaxy Round. The other model is rumored to feature a flat display and it’s expected to be produced for the masses. It’s not clear if there will be any other differences on board.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to feature a 5.7-inch QHD display, 3GB of RAM to support the processing power, 32GB of storage space, a 16MP rear camera with Optical Image stabilization, and a 3-4MP front-facing camera.

The Galaxy Note 4 is heavily rumored to be coming out this fall with launch rumors centered around IFA in Berlin, Germany. IFA has served as the backdrop for all three Samsung Galaxy Note launches and with rumors and Samsung executives pointing to IFA, there is a good chance that we’ll see the Galaxy Note 4 announced somewhere between September 3rd and September 5th. September 3rd has been rumored as the Galaxy Note 4’s exact launch date.

Best article so far with the most confirmed spec list. Can’t wait for the phone to be released. I do hope they put 4gb ram in final product but that’s probably overkill.

I have one question why not a 5.9 or a 6inch screen. If screen size stays the same size is note 3. What is the point of getting a note 4, sure it will be faster, runs smoothly& be water, dust proof. But it isn’t much of a upgrade or a change.

Some people find the note 3 to be about the limit of pocketable size. For me right now, if it was bigger by more than a few mm, I’d probably skip the 4. If they can wedge on a 5.8-5.9 on basically the same size it is now, it’s a WIN. I believe that was the consensus of the polls too.

I also think I’ll wait. Hopefully the note 5 is better.

@Barbara…if that statement was true, why have ppl been buying iPhones year after year with the same screen size?

Because they are brand locked-in (just like their phones). Same as always. If Apple released an iPhone 6 with exactly the same spec but the main button at the top rather than the bottom and charged $100 extra it would sell by the millions, but less by each passing release, as they are seeing now.

I avg 36180 with my note 3 on antutu. I might go for the 5433 model but no way am I upgrading to the 805 numbers. Yes to me they matter and most Americans that buy this phone will feel the same. They want and expect the best for that kind of money. I’ve owned all previous Note mods but if that’s to continue …. well ,I hope the USA will get the 5433 model.

I want a qhd, a better fingerprint scanner with a octacore processer. There’s no reason that they shouldn’t be able to do much more with the size of of this variant. It much more open space to be leaps and bounds above the galaxy s5. All this size shouldn’t be used just for the S-pen and watching videos.

I agree with you Barbara 100%. I won’t be buying the Note 4 unless they increase the screen size, upgrade the speaker quality, and give it much better rear & front facing cameras. I’ll stay with my Note 3. I really hope they do these things, especially increasing the screen size to a 5.9″, or even better, to a 6″!!! Now, that would be awesome! I guess we’ll just have to see.

If these phones are too big for you, go play in Apple-land……. I’ve had all the Notes and loved them…I currently have the Note 3, and I have to say, it’s one awesome phone! They’re the BEST phones out there, end of story. If you can’t handle them & all they have to offer, and can only criticize, then you’re truly not ready to play with the big boys. Go back to your small pocket size phones, and stay off our fort. Thank you. 😜

I personally own a Note 3, been doing research and waiting for the release of the note 4, besides the rumors going around about the note 4. Would would make the next note 4 a power house and make it worth my wild, would be at least a 5.9 in screen with 4g ram, &132g storage. This would make a good statement for Samsung to stand above the rest. Now days if download a movie on phone and watch it, everyone knows it doesn’t take long to fill your storage in your phone. Specially if don’t what to delete your favorite apps, pics, and videos. So for now I’ll just keep my eyes opened and keep watching the latest on Samsung & LG before I make a decision on my next phone. Thx for reading.

Exactly Randy that’s what I was saying it should be easier to do that with more size. There competition is doing so with premium feeling device’s. I have the Note 3 and love it, but I expect more out of the Note 4. There should be much more memory, ram, a extraordinary qhd screen, brightness, with better S-pen, upgraded OS, qhd camera, upgraded 3.0 megapixel and bigger front facing camera to let in more light. 16 megabit back camera 64 but processor for gaming, and a creative way to save battery life.
