Getting back to truly budget smartphones, the all-new Moto E is the most promising cheap smartphone we've ever seen. Those truly on a serious budget that don't want to sign a contract, but don't want to resort to some low-end chinese knockoff smartphone or something awful like most regional carriers have, the Moto E is worth considering.
It isn't a premium device, but you can't go wrong with the Moto E for only $130 from places like Amazon. You'll get a 4.3-inch 540 x 960 qHD display, dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, and 4GB of internal storage. It isn't the most, but the micro-SD slot for storange expansion, latest version of Android, and front facing speakers all make this completely worth the $129 asking price.
The Moto E (like the G) also has an array of color options thanks to easily removable backplates for customization.
