3 Reasons You Need to Play the Destiny Beta Today

Published

on

If you are excited about the Destiny beta and the Destiny release, you need to find time to play the Destiny beta today, even for a little while.

Starting later today there are special Destiny beta rewards that will carry over to the Destiny release this fall. If you want to start playing Destiny with something special, this is your chance to do so.

We already know there is a special beta emblem available, but there are teasers of something more to come. Destiny scheduled Iron Banner matches for the weekend, where players can earn gear, but said that these are not permanent rewards and are not the special gear teased earlier this week.

The Destiny release is in September and you can pre-order from Amazon and other locations.

Here are three reasons you need to stop and play the Destiny beta today, and when you should make sure you play if you want the special Destiny rewards.

Destiny Beta Rewards

There is a special Destiny beta event at 2PM Pacific, 5 PM Eastern, today. This is when Bungie wants as many people playing the beta as possible.

Earn Destiny beta upgrades that carry over to the final release.

By cramming in anyone who wants to play the Destiny beta into a small window they can test the load that the game might see at the Destiny release date this fall.

For now, all Bungie will say is that there are, “Special rewards and surprises at 2PM.”

If you want a chance to earn some Destiny gear to create better characters this fall, you should dive in and start playing so you have a level 5 character by 2PM Pacific.

Your character and gear will not carry over to the Destiny release, except the special rewards Bungie is offering today.

Destiny Beta is Free for All

The Destiny beta is now available to anyone that wants to play. There is no reason to look for a Destiny beta code or way to download the game through a trick.

Turn on your Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 or PS4 and look for the Destiny beta in the store. You can download the game to your console and start playing.

The beta download can take a few hours, so get started on that now if you haven’t already. You can get your friends online so all of you can play before the Destiny beta ends.

Destiny Beta End Time

Like all good things there is a Destiny beta end time.

Like all good things there is a Destiny beta end time.

The Destiny beta end time is set for late today. This is a limited time beta and although the original Destiny beta schedule left the time open it is clear that when July 26th comes to a close on the West coast the Destiny beta is over.

After the Destiny beta ends you won’t be able to play this game until the Destiny release on September 9th, which is a very popular time for new games.

Don’t expect a Destiny demo later this year, so if you are on the fence about buying Destiny this is a risk free way to do that, just remember networking issues or other glitches are part of trying a beta. The Xbox One graphics are also due for an upgrade to 1080P by the Destiny release.

I’ve been playing on ps3. I don’t plan to buy destiny until I pick up a ps4. Do you think rewards and such will carry over still? (I just finished the moon event)

Theyve confirmed that Ps3 characters are playable on the PS4 version (and 360 to One), so if you really dont want to wait, you dont have to, at not as much of a loss. And i dont think theyve said one way or another yet, whether your beta characters will go over to the release, but its unlikely.

Some stuff wrong with your post bro. Bungie has not confirmed or denied that your progress of beta character won’t carry over. Plus the beta may not end with 24 hours. They said they’ll keep it up as long as they desire. Te end date is purely a rumor.

I was playing all day. Played the moon event twice. I actually explored and defeated 2 different ogres going down into the core of the moon…. but I never got any pop-up or rewards today at all?!!! Is it only to be rewarded when I get the finished copy installed? I thought I could use it today???????
