iPhone 6 Plus Pre-Orders Start Shipping 2 Weeks Early

Published

on

iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders are shipping very early, in a sign that Apple is able to meet the demand for the larger iPhone for users who waited up until midnight last week.

AT&T iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders frustrated many buyers, including those at Gotta Be Mobile, who ordered the larger iPhone 6 Plus as soon as iPhone 6 pre-orders started but soon found out that ship dates stretched into the middle of October.

Early today AT&T sent out iPhone 6 Plus shipment notifications, moving up delivery to this Friday, the same day as millions will line up for the iPhone 6 release date at local stores trying to get one of the new iPhones.

iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders are shipping two to three weeks early.

For users expecting a delayed iPhone 6 Plus pre-order delivery next month, you should stop and check your email or account for a tracking number. AT&T is shipping the iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders two-weeks early for us, without any action necessary on our part. Here’s where to check your AT&T order status.

The messages come just hours after shoppers received iPhone 6 pre-order shipment notifications from AT&T. The iPhone 6 shipments from earlier today aren’t a shock as the supply is ample and AT&T promised release day delivery since pre-orders started.

When AT&T sent the iPhone 6 Plus pre-order shipment notifications and order confirmations they included a link to the FedEx tracking information that shows the iPhone 6 Plus in Texas for delivery in less than 48 hours on the iPhone 6 release day.

Even if you didn’t expect your iPhone 6 Plus delivery until October, you should check to see if your order is moved up from an October 2nd – October 13th estimated delivery to this Friday. If it did you’ll need to make sure you are home or that you pre-sign for the iPhone 6 Plus delivery so you don’t end up coming home to a “Sorry we missed you” tag instead of a new iPhone 6.

Make sure you check to see if your iPhone 6 Plus pre-order is coming early.

Even though these iPhone 6 Plus pre-order shipments are overnight shipping with delivery by 3PM, and they are with FedEx now there is no chance for an early delivery. Apple and carriers ask FedEx to hold the deliveries until Friday the 19th, and the shipper gladly listens.

This is good news following many AT&T iPhone 6 pre-order complaints, that left many buyers with a sour taste in their mouth — doubly so for customers who ordered in the middle of the night.

Even two days before the iPhone 6 release date, you can still pre-order the iPhone 6 for delivery on Friday. The selection is limited, but still there. The Apple Store also offers iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders for in store pickup on Friday. This is a promise that you’ll get the iPhone 6 you want at an Apple Store without waiting in line all morning like walk-in shoppers.

Apple Leather iPhone 6 Cases

Apple Leather iPhone 6 Cases

One of the most popular iPhone 6 cases is the leather iPhone 6 case from Apple. This case is one that you can find in any Apple Store on release day and is also listed with many carriers.

Apple designs the leather iPhone 6 case with premium leather in a small form factor that adds minimal bulk to the new iPhone. You can find the leather iPhone 6 case in five color options that match the white and black front of the iPhone 6.

Watch out if you buy the red iPhone 6 case as the leather model for the iPhone 5s wore very fast and looked dirty and grey soon after purchasing.

I ordered an ATT iPhone 6 Plus 128gig space grey at 3:45am PST. (I started trying at 2:55am PST and it took 50 min to get order accepted. I was simultaneously trying ATT site, APPLE site, and iPhone apple store app all at the same time. I instantly received an email stating 14 to 21 day shipping. Later I checked order status and it said shipping Nov 9th to 27th! Now it says “Item status: Preparing to Ship
Estimated ship date: 10/02/14-10/13/14” as of Thursday Sept. 18th @ 11:37 am EST. I live in the North East.

I just got off the phone with ATT. Rep said 10/2 -10-13 is accurate because iPhones are on backorder. It bugs me that they are furnishing iPhone to retail stores before honoring preorders, especially the preorders made so early!

I agree Casey what’s the point of preorder
If you can walk in a store and get one the preorders should be filled first

My ship date isn’t until 11/9 – 11/27. I truly hope this isn’t true and it moves up significantly. I also agree they should fill all preorders first prior to releasing in stores.

This is ridiculous! I stayed up till 3:30am on a word day just pre-order my iPhone 6 plus 128gb!! And now to find out AT&T is furnishing stores first and some online reports says AT&T is not honoring the preorders as a first come first serve basis… I will be switching carriers and they can shove the cancellation fees up their a** as I will never pay them! All I can say is I better have a iPhone 6 plus in my hand before someone who ordered that evening! It would be the same thing as going to any store tomorrow on the release day and handing iPhones out at the back of the line…

I stayed up as well, ordered mine when I finally got through after waiting 40 minutes at 3:40 a.m. E.T. it said 2-3 weeks. Then I got the email saying Nov. 8-27 now it’s been saying 10/2-10/13 for the lst few days. What is the purpose of a preorder if you won’t get your device before anybody else. This is deceitful and basically hair & switch. I’m beyond pissed!

I completed my order at 12:10 P.T. on Sept 12 and it said 14-21 business days. I checked the site and it said a Nov shipping date and now it says Oct 2 – 13. I don’t understand preordering if it’s not going to be shipped on launch day. I should have taken my chances in the store.

My order was processed by 12:04 and the status says shipping Oct 2-13. Why did I bother staying up (it was actually 2am in my time zone)?!?!

Yeah that’s bull pre orders should take effect in first place as we took lot of effort to make on time and lot of time waiting that sucks if any body else would get before then preorders

I was able to preorder on AT&T’s premier site at 11:45pm pst on 9/11/14 but mine still has a ship date of 10/2 – 10/13. If anyone should get it earlier it should be me, but it ain’t happening.

I was able to order at that same time also (AT&T’s premier site at 11:45pm pst on 9/11/14) iPhone 6+ Silver 128GB and got a 10-2 to 10-13 date, and has been that to the present day.

UPDATE: I guess AT&T came thru for me after all. Just got an email that my iphone 6 plus (64gb) has shipped and FedEx will deliver on Monday 9/22. I’m shocked.

I hope to receive a similar update soon! My order for the same phone was placed a bit later than yours (12:04am Friday), also on the Premier site. I really don’t believe that a Premier account is more worthy of getting a quick shipment, but if it has any bearing on the general timeline, I’m excited! Getting the phone sometime next week vs 2-3 weeks from now sounds very appealing!

Seems like many different stories depending on location. In Australia, I preordered mine directly from the Apple website (iPhone 6 128GB Space Grey unlocked) at 6:30pm on Sept. 12th (1:30am California time 9/12) and it arrived at work at 9:30 am on Sept 19th (Sept 18th 4:30pm in CA). Maybe it had something to do with being unlocked as opposed to being through a carrier like AT&T.
