Where to Buy the iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus
Even if there is no Apple Store anywhere near you, there are a dozen different places you can buy the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
On the iPhone 6 release date the Apple Store, carriers like AT&T and Verizon as well as retailers like Walmart and Staples, will all open early to sell the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
There is still time to buy an iPhone 6 Plus online for in store pickup on Friday, which is the best way to buy an iPhone 6 Plus this week.
After you decide which iPhone 6 you should buy and what iPhone 6 color you want you’re almost good to go. If you are thinking of switching, make sure you read our iPhone 6 carrier comparison before signing a contract or getting in line.
It’s also important to know that most of the retailers listed don’t sell the T-Mobile iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, so you’ll need to go to a T-Mobile store or an Apple Store.
iPhone 6 Release Date Stores
Here’s a list of where you can buy the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus starting at 8 AM local time on the iPhone 6 release date, Friday, September 19th.
Many of these places offer an iPhone trade-in deal with higher than normal prices for old iPhones. You’ll get the trade-in value later in some cases, but it can add up to a free iPhone 6.
Apple Store iPhone 6 Release
You can still place an online order for in store pickup at your local Apple Store for any iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus model. This is better than walking up to the door and waiting in line for hours without a reservation. There is no added fee for this option.
If you attempt to order the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus for home delivery from Apple expect a delay of almost a month.
Apple Stores will form two lines on Friday, starting at about 5 AM. The first line is for walk-in shoppers and the second is for users who reserved one for in store pickup. Read more about Apple’s Phone 6 release date plans.
Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile
You can walk in to a carrier store to buy the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus starting at 8 AM local time on Friday. You’ll want to get there a few hours early if you want an iPhone 6 Plus.
T-Mobile promises to meet any carrier iPhone trade-in deal, Verizon is offering a minimum of $200 and AT&T is kicking in with $150 for a 16GB iPhone 5.
All corporate stores that we know of are opening early, and lines typically start to pick up by 6 AM local time, depending on the location.
Make sure you read the seven things iPhone salespeople at carrier stores want you to know, before you head in on the iPhone 6 release date.
RadioShack
RadioShack offers a $50 iTunes Gift card with any iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 purchase between September 19th and September 27th.
It’s not clear if RadioShack plans to open early, so check with your local store if you plan to go this route. If you buy on Verizon with a two-year contract you also get a $50 NFLShop gift card. Stacking on top is an iPhone 5 trade in deal and Galaxy S5 trade in deal for $100 to $300 in trade in value.
RadioShack sells the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on Sprint, AT&T and Verizon.
Best Buy
Best Buy sells the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on Verizon, AT&T and Sprint. If you plan to buy on contract or with a payment plan this is a good place to check, but if you are buying the iPhone 6 off contract skip Best Buy as they charge $50 more than anyone.
The iPhone 6 stock at Best Buy may be low for walk-in customers, but it’s worth checking if you strike out at another retailer.
Target
Target sells the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on the release date for walk-in customers and for users who pre-ordered with the company. Availability will depend on shipments and the number of pre-orders. Target offers up to $200 for your old iPhone. Sales start Friday morning at 8 AM.
Walmart & Sam’s Club
If you want an iPhone 6 deal or an iPhone 6 Plus deal that delivers cash off the purchase price Walmart and Sam’s Club are the places to go on the iPhone 6 release date.
Starting at 8 AM Walmart will sell the 16GB iPhone 6 and 16 GB iPhone 6 Plus in all colors on AT&T, Sprint and Verizon. The iPhone 6 is $179 ($20 off) and the iPhone 6 Plus is $279 ($20 off). Sam’s Club beats the Walmart price by $2.
It’s not clear how much stock they will have for customers who did not pre-order the iPhone 6. There is no Walmart iPhone 6 Plus pre-order.
Staples
Staples starts selling the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on September 19th at stores with a mobile location and they are also participating in the Verizon iPhone trade in deal and offering a special Staples trade in option as well. The Verizon option includes an eCash card that you can use to buy the iPhone 6 immediately.
Check to see if your local Staples is selling the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus before you head out to buy one.
