Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Release Date Creeping Closer

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge release date remains missing in action though thanks to a steady flow of information, we know that the Galaxy Note Edge release continues to creep closer.

On September 3rd, Samsung executives took the stage and announced a slew of new products including a brand new Galaxy Note 4 and a surprise Galaxy Note Edge. The Galaxy Note 4 will be the true successor to last year’s Galaxy Note 3 and it will go on sale with a number of high-powered features starting in mid-October. The Galaxy Note Edge, a device that shares a lot in common with the Galaxy Note 4, will also deliver some explosive specs including a bent display.

The new Galaxy Note Edge features a Quad HD resolution, a 2.7 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 805 with 3GB of RAM, Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Samsung TouchWiz, 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, massive battery, and a thin 8.3mm frame. It also comes with an S Pen stylus and a display unlike any other.

Samsung’s new Galaxy Note Edge is an intriguing device though it’s not without its problems. At the event, Samsung failed to mention anything about the Galaxy Note Edge release date or the Galaxy Note Edge price leaving retailers and others to fill in the blanks ahead of its official announcement. Fortunately, we’ve seen a ton of information flow in the last few weeks and we’ve started to get a firm look at the missing Galaxy Note Edge details.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge release date continues to make progress behind the scenes. Blog of Mobile, a site that tracks certification filings, found two more FCC filings for the Galaxy Note Edge. These filings, necessary for the Galaxy Note Edge release date to happen, include clearance for the SC-01G and SCL24. These variants appear to be for Japanese carriers and these filings now join a trail of clues regarding the Galaxy Note Edge release.

Earlier this month, one Galaxy Note Edge variant passed through the FCC. We also recently spotted a Bluetooth certification for an international model. Last week, three more Galaxy Note Edge variants were caught getting their certifications, a sign that the release date is getting certainly getting closer. Not all Galaxy Note Edge release dates are close though.

Last week, Samsung unexpectedly revealed some new Galaxy Note Edge release date information. The company says that Galaxy Note Edge release date in Canada will take place in 2015. The company did not offer any specific dates. It did, however, mention that the country would be behind the U.S. Galaxy Note Edge release date. It’s not clear what that means for the U.S. though it does confirm a release date ahead of the Canadian release.

A Samsung Galaxy Note Edge sign up page for the United States though claims that the Galaxy Note Edge is “coming soon” to the U.S. It does not reveal an exact date but this is the first time since launch that we’ve seen Samsung tease the Galaxy Note Edge release for the U.S. market. It doesn’t mean that a Galaxy Note Edge release will happen tomorrow but it’s a good sign nonetheless.

Other regions will apparently trail the United States. UK retailer Clove recently passed along Galaxy Note Edge release details and they point to a delayed release in Europe. The retailer claims that the Galaxy Note Edge will not be available in the United Kingdom right off the bat. This information, it says, is based off of its distribution channels.

When the Note Edge launches, there will not be UK stock available. It will not be available in the majority of European countries.

For those customers that are interested in purchasing the Note Edge, we will look to source non-UK stock. This means that, if possible, we will purchase the stock intended for one of the countries where the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is due to launch.

It’s still not clear what other countries might be included but what is clear is that Galaxy Note Edge release problems have already begun ahead of an official announcement. And that’s not good for consumers looking to pick up a new flagship smartphone during the fall and the holiday shopping months.

Shouldn’t these filings with the FCC and whoever else be completed before releasing the phone so sales can begin straightaway?

Samsungs sales team should be sacked . They demonstrated their new devices before iphone and yet iphone have released their phones and all . Imagine how many people just couldnt be bothered waiting on samsung and got the 6 or 6+ instead . I was due a renewal on my contract in July and choose to wait on samsungs new note 4 edge . But if samsung dont get their finger out and set a release date in the UK im sorry but its good bye to samsung and hello LG flex or even the iphone 6 and i wont be back near samsung again . Their technology is brilliant but their sales department is a absolute disgrace and a total joke . Last chance samsung ive waited long enough your time is nearly up .

I already went for the iPhone plus, I pre ordered 2 days ago. I really wanted the edge, but my galaxy s4 cracked and I needed a phone asap. Samsung really messed up on this move, this will probably mark galaxy’s down fall.

I’m definitely getting this phone. I have the Note 3 right now and do not plan on jumping ship, I was going to get the Note 4 at first and then once saw this. And I immediately changed my mind. It’s different and it looks really cool (to me personally). It has all of the same hardware that the Note 4 will have and then some. It was a very easy decision for me to get the Edge instead. Cannot wait for this to finally have a release date, as soon as I can I’m going to pre order it!
