Galaxy Note Edge Release Date Shapes Up

Little by little, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge release date is shaping up as new Galaxy Note Edge release date details reveal new information about one of the year’s biggest smartphone releases.

Weeks ago, on September 3rd, Samsung executives took the stage and announced a slew of new products including a brand new Galaxy Note 4 and a surprise Galaxy Note Edge. The Galaxy Note 4 will be the true successor to last year’s Galaxy Note 3 and it will go on sale with a number of high-powered features starting in mid-October. The Galaxy Note Edge, a device that shares a lot in common with the Galaxy Note 4, will also deliver some explosive specs including a bent display.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge features a Quad HD resolution, a 2.7 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 805 with 3GB of RAM, Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Samsung TouchWiz, 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, massive battery, and a thin 8.3mm frame. It also comes with an S Pen stylus and a display unlike any other.

The new Galaxy Note Edge is an intriguing device though it’s not without problems. At the event, Samsung failed to mention anything about the Galaxy Note Edge release date or the Galaxy Note Edge price leaving retailers and others to fill in the blanks ahead of its official announcement. Fortunately, we’ve seen a ton of information flow in the last few weeks and today we’ve seen a number of new details flow ahead of the Galaxy Note Edge release later this year.

In addition to confirming new Galaxy Note 4 release date details, Samsung also seemingly confirmed new Galaxy Note Edge release date details as well with the company confirming a release in Korea. The company also states that the Galaxy Note Edge release will unsurprisingly vary based on region. We’ve heard talk of different Galaxy Note Edge release dates including release dates that have been pushed to 2015.

A Samsung executive tells ZDNet Korea that the Galaxy Note Edge is going to be a limited release concept which seems to hint at limited availability. We’ve heard that the United Kingdom won’t get the Galaxy Note Edge when it first arrives and we’ve also seen Samsung Canada confirm the Galaxy Note Edge release date for 2015. Other countries could follow.

The Galaxy Note Edge release date in Korea and the United States though is expected to land sometime this year. The report indicates that Samsung is hoping to get the Galaxy Note Edge out in Korea by the end of October. It’s not clear what date it’s targeting at this point. Samsung’s releasing the Galaxy Note 4 extremely early in South Korea and we could, perhaps, see something similar with the Galaxy Note Edge.

The U.S. Galaxy Note Edge release date is confirmed for later this year though specifics remain out of reach. T-Mobile claims that it will be out in the fall which means that it should be out ahead of Christmas.

Samsung’s specific Galaxy Note Edge release date remains out of reach though we continue to see the Galaxy Note Edge release make progress behind the scenes. Several Galaxy Note Edge models have been spotted passing through the FCC, and Korea’s RRA, on their way to shelves. These certifications are necessary before a release. What this means is that several models, all Korean variants, have now inched closer to their arrival date.

It’s now clear that the Galaxy Note 4 release date will beat the Galaxy Note Edge release date though by how much remains unclear. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 release is confirmed for more than 100 countries in October with a U.S. release date now set for October 17th on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon.

AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon will all carry the Galaxy Note Edge when it arrives in the U.S. later this year.
