Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Release Date Getting Closer

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge release date is still missing in action though we can confirm that the Galaxy Note Edge release does continue to make progress behind the scenes during Samsung’s prolonged period of silence.

Several weeks ago, Samsung announced a slew of new products including a brand new Galaxy Note 4 and a surprise device called the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. The Galaxy Note 4 will be the true successor to last year’s Galaxy Note 3 and it will go on sale with a number of high-powered features starting in mid-October. The Galaxy Note Edge, a device that shares a lot in common with the Galaxy Note 4, will deliver those some explosive specs with a unique curved display.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge features a Quad HD resolution, a 2.7 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 805 with 3GB of RAM, Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Samsung TouchWiz, 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, massive battery, and a thin 8.3mm frame. It also comes with an S Pen stylus though the display, seen in the video below, should be its biggest draw.

At its launch event, Samsung announced many of the key Galaxy Note Edge features including hardware, software, and carriers. It even announced a Galaxy Note Edge release date for later this year. However, Samsung did not announce a specific Galaxy Note Edge release date or the Galaxy Note Edge price leaving it up to us to fill in the blanks for consumers ahead of its official announcements. Fortunately, we’ve seen pertinent information emerge in the past three weeks as we work to paint a broad picture for consumers.

Today, another Galaxy Note Edge model, the SC-01G for Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo, passed through the Global Certification Forum. The GCF is a necessary certification and it means that the Galaxy Note Edge release date in Japan is getting closer. A date is still not known though according to Blog of Mobile, DoCoMo recently announced the Galaxy Note Edge for its network. It appears that it plans to start selling it by the end of October.

Samsung still hasn’t confirmed a release date for Japan though we’ve seen Galaxy Note Edge details confirmed for several other countries including South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

In Korea, the Galaxy Note Edge release date could land in late October, or, a month after the Galaxy Note 4 release date. A date isn’t confirmed and that appears to be a release date target rather than a concrete window for Samsung’s high-end Galaxy Note. We’ve seen the Galaxy Note Edge for Korea pass through several certifications in the past so it would not be surprising if the Galaxy Note Edge release there was just weeks away.

The Galaxy Note Edge release date in the United States is still not confirmed for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, or Verizon. Samsung and its carrier partners confirmed a release for later this year and it appears that that is still the case. We haven’t heard about any delays for the United States though we have seen delays pop up for other regions.

Clove UK, a retailer based out of the United Kingdom, has been one of the more vocal retailers. Earlier this month, the retailer passed along information from its distribution channels, information that hinted at a delayed Galaxy Note Edge release date in the UK and in other parts of Europe. Here is what it said at the time:

When the Note Edge launches, there will not be UK stock available. It will not be available in the majority of European countries.

For those customers that are interested in purchasing the Note Edge, we will look to source non-UK stock. This means that, if possible, we will purchase the stock intended for one of the countries where the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is due to launch.

Yesterday, the retailer made good on its promise to find other stock and it’s now taking Galaxy Note Edge pre-orders, with a placeholder price tag, through its website. Unfortunately, these pre-orders do not confirm a specific Galaxy Note Edge release date for buyers in Europe but it does mean that there might be a way to buy ahead of the official release.

In mid-September, Samsung unexpectedly revealed new Galaxy Note Edge release date information for North America. The company confirmed a Galaxy Note Edge release date in Canada will take place and that it will take place next year in 2015. It’s still not clear if other regions will join in with a delayed Galaxy Note Edge release though it’s certainly possible given everything we’ve seen and heard.

In the meantime, the Galaxy Note Edge release date continues to get closer consumers as we push deeper into the fall towards Black Friday and the holiday shopping season.

Shocking another crap update from a crap site. Please, for all that is sacred, STOP USING the PHONE NAME every 10 words. 30 mentions of the phone name in this small, no new information, article is just plain lazy. Please go learn how to write.

I find the article informative and helpful. If you can write better please feel free to post an article with more up to date in on the note edge and see how far at the top search results are for your article. Life is short Dan….you obviously find pleasure in your life by putting others down in their efforts to make a difference. The difference you have made in your post you have instantly made hundreds and probably thousands of people realize why they have such a great life….they don’t waste their time on forums knocking people down for doing something productive. Good luck with life and good luck with the more informative article.
