Google Play 5.0 Downloads Arrive: Google Preps Android L

Published

on

The Android L release is fast approaching and now the Google Play 5.0 download is available for Android users who can’t wait to try the new Google Play Store 5.0.

This new Google Play 5.0 download includes the new Google Play Store with Material Design that is already rolling out to some users. You don’t need to wait for the roll out to magically arrive on your phone thanks to a Google Play Version 5.0 download.

We saw an early version of the new Google Play store with Android L’s material design appear in July, but this is the new Google Play 5.0 update that brings the look full circle and arrives as we move closer to the Android L release date that could arrive in the middle of the month.

Here's a Google Play 5.0 download direct to the official apk.

On Google Plus a member of the Google Play team shared the evolution of the Google Play Store app icon, which is just one of the changes in the new Google Play 5.0 update.

The Google Play 5.0 apk delivers the new experience to your Android phone without waiting for Google to complete the roll out, which is too slow for many users.

Thanks to Android Police we can share a link to the official Google Play 5.0 apk. Use the Google Play 5.0 download below to install the new version of Google Play on your Android phone without waiting for Google.

The official number is Google Play 5.0.31 and this may be the new Google Play Store that ships with Android L later this month.

This is officially signed by Google so it is a safe download. According to Android Police this may crash on the Android L Preview that some users are running on the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7. Install at your own risk.

One of the major changes is a design shift to more material design, which matches the overall style of Android L. Announced at Google I/O this summer, Android L is the next major version of Android. We expect an Android L release this month, with an official announcement possible in the next two weeks.

Another change is a shift in where the Google Play Store shows you what is new in an app. It is now closer to the top so users can see what an update offers without all the scrolling.

Recent reports place the Android L release announcement on October 15th or 16th. The 16th is the same date as a confirmed Apple Event where the company is expected to announce iOS 8.1, new iPads and a new iMac retina. According to Android Authority the actual Android L release date is allegedly planned for November 1st. At the event you can count on Google to announce a new name to replace the Android L with a real name similar to Android KitKat.

The video above highlights many of the new Android L features and show off the new Material Design which is part of this Google Play Store update.

Users who own a Nexus device can count on a fast Android L release date, at least on the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 devices.

At this same event we expect to see a Nexus 6 from Motorola with a 5.9-inch display and design similar to the new Moto X 2014. There are also reports of a new Nexus 9 tablet which will replace the aging Nexus 10 as Google’s iPad Air and iPad Air 2 competitor.
