Nexus 9 Accessories Arrive Early from Amazon

Published

Google’s brand new HTC Nexus 9 tablet release date isn’t until November 3rd, but Google and many other retails have already started taking pre-orders ahead of the release. However, the official Nexus 9 accessories announced last week have yet to become available, until today.

Last week Google quietly announced the all-new HTC Nexus 9 tablet, the Nexus 6 smartphone, a Nexus player, and of course the new and improved Android 5.0 Lollipop. HTC’s new Nexus 9 tablet is an exciting tablet that many buyers have pre-ordered, and today ahead of the Google release Amazon is now taking pre-orders for the authentic HTC accessories too.

Accessories for Nexus devices haven’t been the easiest to buy in previous years, even if Google did do a much better job with the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 last year. That being said, the new Nexus 9 will have an accompanying keyboard folio case, and some magnetic flip cases arriving soon. In fact, you can order them right now from Amazon.com. Read on for all the details and links.

When Google announced the new Nexus 6, Nexus 9, and Android 5.0 Lollipop last week they had a lot to cover. It was a major announcement with three devices and a completely revamped version of Android.

To many buyers surprise, the Nexus 9 will arrive with a few different case options for those wanting added protection with their new $399 or $479 Android tablet. On October 17th as promised Google opened up pre-orders for the Nexus 9, but both accessories remain unavailable. Google has both the keyboard folio case and the magnetic origami flip cases on the Play Store, but they aren’t available and no date is in sight.

Today though, Amazon beat Google to the punch and opened up pre-orders, as well as confirmed that both options will be available on November 3rd, the same day the tablet is released. For whatever reason Google isn’t taking pre-orders, so buyers can’t order a case and have it delivered the same day as their tablet, which doesn’t make much sense. That being said, they could open up soon, and arrive within a day or two, we’ll have to wait and see.

The HTC Magic Cover is your best bet, but comes in rather expensive as an official accessory and will be $39.99, and available in four colors. This is a magnetic folding origami case that bends in multiple shapes to offer protection, a kickstand, and different viewing angles for a wide array of uses.

That isn’t all either. Google’s designed the Nexus 9 to be perfect for both work and play, and for those needing to use it for work a brand new folio bluetooth keyboard case will also be released on November 3rd. It isn’t cheap either, priced at a hefty $129, but looks like a great case.

The keyboard folio case also attaches magnetically to the back of the Nexus 9, and pairs instantly wirelessly for ease of use. Owners will be able to use the keyboard case and stand in two viewing modes for easy typing or watching movies, and of course editing Google docs on the fly.

One important aspect is Google claims the keyboard case will last up to 5 months on a single charge. Meaning it won’t give extra power to your Nexus 9 like some bulky keyboard cases. It is however lightweight, easy to carry, folds into a case, and will last for months on end without ever needing a charge. Not bad.

These are the first two official accessory cases for the new Nexus 9, but we expect more will be arriving in the near future. Buyers can get one reserved today from Amazon, and expect them to also be available on the Google Play Store, Best Buy, and other outlets around November 3rd.
