Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Release Date Hits Snag

Published

on

The Verizon Galaxy Note 4 release date has hit another snag today just a ahead of Verizon’s highly anticipated Galaxy Note 4 release date.

Back in September, shortly after Samsung took the stage to confirm the Galaxy Note 4, U.S. carriers made confirmations of their own. Among them, Verizon, one of the United States’ most popular carriers and a likely destination for Galaxy Note 4 buyers. Verizon immediately revealed key Galaxy Note 4 details though, like other U.S. carriers, it did not confirm any of the key release date info that consumers were, and still are, after.

Several weeks after the Galaxy Note 4 launch, Verizon confirmed Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders and the Galaxy Note 4 price ahead of the Galaxy Note 4 release date. At the time, the company listed the device’s ship by dates for October 23rd. That date held even after its rivals, which include AT&T, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, and T-Mobile, announced a firm October 17th release date.

Verizon did not confirm a release date and referred prospective buyers to the ship by dates listed on its website. Those shipping dates initially stayed at October 23rd though recently, Verizon pushed the white Galaxy Note 4 ship by date to October 31st, or, two weeks after the devices arrival in the United States and a week after Verizon’s expected Galaxy Note 4 release date.

Today, we’ve spotted what appears to be another potential delay. Best Buy, one of the retailers taking Verizon Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders, originally listed the white Galaxy Note 4 with an online pre-order. Shortly after that, the device shifted to in-store pre-orders only. Now, the retailers online portal lists the white Galaxy Note 4 as “coming soon” with no way to pre-order it ahead of its release date.

This new snag means that those looking to buy the white Galaxy Note 4 are going to be faced with a few different options, none good. The first option is to buy through Verizon and wait until the device is ready to ship out. Often, carriers will ship out devices in advance of a ship by date so there’s a chance it could land before Halloween.

Buyers can also try to buy the white Verizon Galaxy Note 4 through Best Buy though stock appears to be limited. The black Verizon Galaxy Note 4 is still up for pre-order on Best Buy’s website. The other option is Amazon. Amazon is no longer taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 4 but it looks like it will start selling it later on this week.

While the Verizon Galaxy Note 4 release date is still unconfirmed, we know that the Verizon Galaxy Note 4 release date is inching closer. Yesterday, the carrier started shipping out Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders, both black and white, to consumers across the United States. Devices are expected to land today, and tomorrow, the latter of which is expected to serve as the Verizon Galaxy Note 4 release date. Amazon is listing an October 24th release date so October 23rd remains unconfirmed.

Last week, Verizon posted its first Galaxy Note 4 accessory on its website, the official  S-View Flip Cover from Samsung. The $50 accessory appears to be available ahead of the Galaxy Note 4′s actual release date. The S-View Flip cover is just one of several official Galaxy Note 4 accessories that are set to arrive this year. The carrier also posted support documents for both the black and white Samsung Galaxy Note 4 variants. These documents offer basic tips and advice to Verizon Galaxy Note 4 owners.

Verizon is charging $299.99 for the Galaxy Note 4 on-contract but Samsung’s $200 trade-in deal still applies to the device because Verizon still hasn’t released the Galaxy Note 4. Verizon’s trade-in will be offered through today. This is, at this point, the only pre-release Verizon Galaxy Note 4 deal that’s still available and it knocks a significant chunk off the Verizon Galaxy Note 4 price.

Word to the wise. Do not order from Best Buy! I’m still waiting for an AT&T Note 4 that I pre-ordered on the 7th. Nobody with best buy can tell me when my phone will be in. Go look at their Facebook and Twitter for all of the people that are in the same situation. They are trying to blame the shortage on Samsung but AT&T store, Amazon, and other retailers around me had the phone available for walk in sales on October 17th. I’m stuck with Best Buy because I don’t want to lose the $200 pre order rebate and they made me buy a $50 non refundable gift card to hold me spot.

Same here. I pre-ordered from Sprint, 1st and received yesterday. I returned it to a Sprint Store because I want the promo Best Buy is offering. I hate the fact that I am still waiting for the phone. The guy at the Best Buy store had a cancel pre-order, for an AT&T PHONE, not Sprint! Shit, damn it! I need a new phoneeeeeee!

I had feared something like this would happen, so I pre-ordered the charcoal black one through Verizon’s website yesterday around 6pm. I was shocked when I got the shipping confirmation & tracking this morning and it says it’s currently in transit and should arrive tomorrow evening. YAY! It’s strange that Verizon never really announced am official release date. So glad I went ahead and pre-ordered.

This article is wrong. The Verizon Note 4’s have NEVER been available for preordering on Best Buy’s website. It has stated either coming soon or in stores only for both colors since they announced it. While it does appear the Verizon website might have a shortage of the white version I think this article is jumping to alot of conclusions & is quite pointless. I am very much glad I did not order through Best Buy!! My Nite 4 from Verizon will be here tomorrow! !

Both Verizon and Samsung are dumb.. Verizon should loose customers to AT&T and T-Mobile due to this horrible delay. Just release the dumb phone already. Supply and demand my a$$ . If Samsung was smart they should have released it on the original launch day. If that would have happened they probably would have taken some iPhone customers away from apple. But no , they failed .

I went to Best Buy a couple of days ago and was told that the holdup was because of the fact that Verizon has 3 cell phone antennas inside of the note 4 supply was not fast enough for those antennas..this is what I was told by a Samsung employee inside of Best Buy.

My white note 4 preorder from from Amazon has been indefinitely delayed and yet I can find no information on it. It’s a Sprint one. All I got is Amazon telling me “Oops, Samsung dropped the ball, thought we’d have it by now.” And I’ve never needed an upgrade more badly. My Note 2 has had it. But surprisingly no one else is pissed but me??

I’ve had a great experience with Best Buy. Pre-orderd (black) and received the email yesterday saying it is available for pickup today. An hour or two after getting the email I received a call from Best Buy to setup an appointment time to come in an get it. No complaints here.

Amazon has royally FUBARed this (Verizon Note 4 pre-order from 27 Sep).

0400 this AM (24 Oct) – Shipping estimated arrival – still Mon, 27 Oct. Chatted w/ Amazon customer service to see if they could change order to 1-day shipping so I can get it this weekend to replace broken phone. Customer service says, no problem — we’ll do it on the house. Asked to confirm that it would ship today, and assured it would.
0500 this AM (24 Oct) – Shipping estimated arrival – 9 Dec. WHAT?
0800 – contacted real customer service rep by phone. 30 minutes hold time. Hung up on me when I asked to transfer to wireless department.
0830-0915 – Called back. Put on endless holds, talked to 2 managers. End result — “we’re out of stock, nothing we can do, we’ll ship as soon as we get more”.

So now, stuck w/ broken phone, no expected shipping date, and can’t buy it from someone else without losing the $200 pre-order deal from Samsung. Totally unsat.

I buy practically everything from Amazon, but they just lost mega credibility with me. Will NEVER buy another phone from them in this lifetime.

Oh Jesus, December??? I’m in the same exact position. My phone isn’t broken but it’s very slow and freezes a lot and gets worse everyday, lost my S pen the other day, have to use two batteries a day, etc. I also buy everything off Amazon including my last Note. But I have the Sprint and I have no clue why my order is on hold at all. They said it was Samsung’s fault but there is no reason for Sprint’s to be on hold. I don’t want to lose my $200 and it feels like someone should pay for this. But maybe we can turn in our $200 before we get the phone since we already pre-ordered and then I’m gonna cancel with Amazon. Definitely gonna try.
