Microsoft Store Black Friday 2014 Sale Revealed, Almost

Published

on

Most of the retailers in the United States are still holding their Black Friday 2014 deals pretty close to avoid other retailers trying to top them. Microsoft Store, the retail arm of Microsoft, is going in a different direction.

Early this morning the Microsoft Store posted the first in its Black Friday 2014 deals. The Microsoft Store carries Microsoft-made hardware, software, a usually some of the popular accessories that users need to get the most out of that hardware and software. As such, we’re looking at deals on the Xbox One, Windows laptops and Windows Phones.

How much Microsoft Black Friday 2014 shoppers can expect to save remains unclear since the company is rolling out its deals gradually like last year. Today it’s selling the HP Stream 7 Windows 8 tablet for just $99. As Amazon has it for the same price, that’s not really a serious deal though.

Microsoft Black Friday 2014 Deals

In the future the company does have what appears to be some decent Black Friday 2014 deals planned though. On November 24th it plans to slash the price of the Lumia 635.

On November 27th The Microsoft Store plans on rolling out some series deals, maybe. We know that the Dell Inspiron 15, the Xbox One with Kinect Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle will go on sale. So too will the Xbox One Limited Edition Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Bundle, Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle, Xbox 360 4GB Peggle 2 Bundle and the regular Xbox 360 4GB console. Microsoft isn’t yet detailing the sale price for each of these, so we have no ideas how good of a deal they’ll be.

Those who plan on picking up games for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 during the avalanche of Black Friday 2014 sales may want to hold out until Microsoft’s deals kick in too. On its list of games getting cheaper are Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 2, Watch Dogs, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Tomb Raider, Kinect Sports Rivals, Thief, The Lego Movie Videogame, Ryse, Wolfenstein, Snpier Elite 3, Diablo 3, Duck Dynasty, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Metro Redux, Shadow of Modor, The Evil Within and Dead Rising 3. All of those are for the Xbox One. That’s about every Xbox One game released on the system so far – except for Titanfall.

Xbox 360 discounted titles will include Thief, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Risen 3, Wolfenstein, The Evil Within, Sniper Elite 3, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Watch Dogs and Lego Marvel Super Heroes. As with the console bundles, we still don’t know anything about pricing, unfortunately. The Microsoft Store does have a pretty decent reputation for offering great deals though. For what it’s worth Microsoft says that Black Friday 2014 shoppers will find “deep discounts” on game systems, software and accessories.

Naturally, what’s probably going to attract more Back Friday 2014 shoppers are those Xbox One bundles. They’re each already a pretty good deal. Earlier this month Microsoft revealed that it was slashing the cost of every Xbox One by $50 for the holiday season. As such, the cheapest Xbox One right now is $349.99. How low they’ll go at the Microsoft Store during its Black Friday 2014 deal remains unclear, but whatever price the company sets will be the lowest the Xbox One has ever been. Besides being cheaper, each of these bundles already come with a free game valued at $60. That’s a lot of savings.

Microsoft started selling the Xbox One last year with a Kinect 2 sensor for $499.99. Microsoft says that it has more Black Friday 2014 deals planned. Presumably, we’ll find out the final pricing on the console bundles and games on Thanksgiving Day.
