Proporta iPhone 6 Leather Sleeve Review

Published

on

Cases are one of the most popular accessories for the iPhone 6, but a similar accessory that doesn’t get much love is the sleeve. I checked out one of the classiest iPhone 6 sleeves I could find, simply called the iPhone 6 Leather Sleeve from Proporta.

A sleeve is a type of case that provides all-around protection for your iPhone except for an opening at the top where you slide your iPhone in and out, and even then, the openings can overlap the top of the device, still allowing some sort of protection from all angles.

While iPhone 6 sleeves are a bit harder to come by as far as selection goes, they’re a great alternative accessory that still protects your device, but without the need to constantly have a case on. Not everyone likes cases, as they can add bulk and weight to an otherwise thin and lightweight device. With a sleeve, you still get the protection that a case can provide, but whenever you actually want to use your iPhone, you can quickly take it out of the sleeve and use it without having the bulkiness of a case.

Of course, most accidental drops come from actually using your iPhone, so a sleeve might not be the best option for the ultimate protection, but for those who usually go caseless and want some kind of added protection, a sleeve can be a good option.

The Proporta iPhone 6 Leather Sleeve is made out of genuine leather that goes really well with business attire or any other formal activity, but it also works well for just a casual night on the town.

What’s perhaps the most unique feature about this sleeve is the way that you pull out your iPhone 6 whenever you need it. On the back of the sleeve, there’s a little pull tab that grab onto and pull on in order to be able to grip your iPhone and pull it out of the sleeve. This is because the sleeve is built very rigidly, so you can’t just stick your fingers and pull out the device, which is why the pull tab is there.

It’s a bit of an odd feature, but it’s necessary in order to get your iPhone out. Luckily, the pull tab doesn’t just flail around when it’s not in use, as it’s magnetized and will stick to the sleeve without causing problems.

The Proporta sleeve is a bit on the thick side, so expect this to add some thickness to your iPhone 6 that you may not be prepared for. It’s not as easy to put in your pocket, and even if you could, it’s a bit uncomfortable when you’re walking around. The back pocket is a decent place for it, but just be not to accidentally sit on it and end up breaking it. The sleeve is rigid for the most part, but isn’t military-graded or anything special.

The inside of the sleeve is made out of a suede-like material that protects from any scratches when you’re taking your iPhone 6 out and putting it back in. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze, so you certainly don’t want anything on the inside that could potentially scratch up the display or even the body of the phone.

The Proporta iPhone 6 Leather Sleeve can be bought on the company’s website for $34, while the iPhone 6 Plus sleeve can be had for $40. That might seem a bit expensive for just a sleeve, but it’s made out of genuine leather and is actually quite rigid. Plus, the price is right on par with other iPhone 6 leather cases, including Apple’s own official leather case for the iPhone 6, which sells for $45.

Obviously, most unintentional drops originate from actually making use of your iPhone, so the sleeve is probably not the smartest choice for the best protection, but for individuals who usually proceed caseless as well as want some type of added safety, a sleeve could be a good choice. Wilson Electronics’ mobile signal boosters conquer these difficulties by amplifying fragile cellular indicators. Our mobile phone signal boosters can pick upward weak signals from the cell structure and transmit these phones your mobile device, after which transmit a far more powerful signal to the structure.

That sleeve seems very fat when looking at the photos :-( Bad review – doesn’t tell us that important dimension.
