Verizon Galaxy Note Edge Release Date Green Lit

Published

on

The Verizon Galaxy Note Edge release date took a huge step towards its arrival today and it looks like the Verizon Galaxy Note Edge release in the U.S. could be just around the corner.

Galaxy Note Edge is a concept phone and it’s one that’s intriguing to those that are looking to upgrade to a high-end smartphone thanks to a collection of impressive specs. The Galaxy Note Edge specs include a curved Quad HD resolution display, a 2.7 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 805 with 3GB of RAM, Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Samsung TouchWiz, 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, massive battery, and a thin 8.3mm frame. It also comes with an S Pen stylus.

The company’s ambitious new smartphone was announced back in September but it took a few months for it to arrive on a majority of carriers inside the United States. AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile are now selling the Galaxy Note Edge through their physical retail locations and through their online portals, offering consumers a solid alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

U.S. Cellular and Verizon also confirmed the Galaxy Note Edge for arrival though neither carrier issued specific release date details when making those announcements. Since then, several U.S. Galaxy Note Edge details have trickled out though none bigger than today’s revelation regarding the Verizon Galaxy Note Edge release date.

Today, the Verizon Galaxy Note Edge passed through the FCC. This is an important step towards its release and it means that the device is now green lit for arrival in the United States. In the past, we’ve seen announcements come shortly after a device has received certification so it could be that the Verizon Galaxy Note Edge announcement is close.

The Verizon Galaxy Note Edge’s clearance comes a few days after the U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note Edge cleared the FCC. It now means that both devices are poised to arrive on shelves in the United States. It’s now up to the carriers to decide when and for how much. The Galaxy Note Edge price at both carriers remains missing in action as well.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge is an extremely expensive smartphone checking in at $399 on-contract on AT&T and $450 on-contract at Sprint. All three current U.S. carriers are charging well over $800 for the Galaxy Note Edge off-contract. AT&T, for instance, is charging $945 off-contract, more than a $100 more than the Galaxy Note 4.

These five carriers represent the five known Galaxy Note Edge carriers in the United States and there’s a chance that the Galaxy Note Edge, a limited concept smartphone, will remain on those five carriers alone. Samsung’s Galaxy Note models rarely stray from the major carriers in the United States and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 is limited to those five as well.

Verizon’s Galaxy Note Edge release date will come several weeks after the Galaxy Note 4 release and the release of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, two of the Galaxy Note Edge’s bigger competitors. The device will also be joined by several other big name devices including the Motorola Droid Turbo, Moto X, LG G3, and more. The Galaxy Note Edge will almost certainly be one of the carrier’s last smartphone launches of the year.

As for U.S. Cellular, the device bolsters a smartphone lineup that is dominated by smartphones like the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S5. The nation’s fifth largest carrier was a surprise Galaxy Note Edge carrier after it failed to confirm the smartphone back in September when the device was first announced. Look for its release date to fall in and around the Verizon Galaxy Note Edge release date as Samsung looks to complete a release that’s been in the works since the early fall.

Do these ‘journalists’ get paid by the character when writing these or something? This is yet another ‘article’ that says a lot without actually saying anything.

Headline: “Click here for VERIZON Release Date information!!”
Article: “Um, yeah, Verizon will almost certainly have a release date at some point. Almost. Probably. But in the meantime, let me tell you about all the other companies besides Verizon that are selling this phone.”

I’m getting annoyed at the fact that there is no official news of when the phone will be out for verizon. some verizon employees are saying they keep holding off to make sure its running perfect because the phone had some issues. I’m so wanting a note 4 than i saw this. but now I’m like wtf..i might as well wait 10 months until the note 5 or the note edge2
