Huge Moto X Deal Chops Price for Buyers

Published

on

The impressive Moto X for 2014 was announced and released back in September, and since has been a rather popular smartphone for all the features and customization included. Not to mention a decent price tag. However, for those who waited an even better deal has arrived today, as Motorola has just announced a new Moto X deal slashing the price to just $50.

Motorola’s Moto X 2nd Gen was revealed in September, and instantly was made popular thanks to the array of customization options, leather and wood backs, and for running stock Android 4.4 KitKat on a bigger, better 5.2-inch 1080p display compared to last years model. If you didn’t get one yet, now would be a good time.

Verizon dropped the price of its Moto X last month after it had only been available for a short while, but now just in time for the holidays Verizon and Motorola are working together and offering this premium smartphone to all Verizon customers for just $50 on contract. Read on for the details.

Motorola kicked off the new Moto X at $99 with a new 2-year contract, or $499 outright, which undercuts all other flagship smartphones available today. That’s less than the HTC One M8, Galaxy S5, LG G3, and many other premium smartphones.

We’ve seen the price drop to $49 on contract before, and during Black Friday a few excellent deals surfaced for the smartphone but they didn’t last long. Motorola even had a rather enticing Cyber Monday option that sold out fast. If you didn’t get in on those deals and are looking for a good present this holiday season, or a new phone, this is a deal worth checking out.

This morning Motorola announced they’d be offering the Verizon Moto X 2014 for only $50 on contract, and the company confirmed the deal again themselves with a post to Twitter, as shown below.

However, like previous deals that didn’t last very long, Verizon and Motorola will be offering up this impressive phone for essentially half off (with a new 2-year contract) from now until the end of the year. Giving buyers plenty of time to decide if it’s right for them, or wait and see if they get a shiny new Moto X for Christmas. Those that don’t, will still have time to snag this deal before December 31st.

The new Moto X for 2014 comes with an improved 5.2-inch 1080p HD display, front facing speakers, Android 4.4 KitKat (soon Android 5.0 Lollipop) and a powerful quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. The best part though, is the over 18 different customizable colors, wood and leather backs, and a Verizon exclusive NFL football leather back as well. All for only $25 more.

A similar deal offering the phone for just $49 on contract has been seen from other sources, like Amazon, but for those who’ve missed out on all of those this will be available for the rest of the month.

Motorola is also hosting a Holiday Cheer promo over at Motorola.com offering $50 off the Moto X if you buy it outright (regularly $499) as another option, so be sure to check out Motorola’s store before buying this new smartphone. The Pure Edition Moto X 2014 already received Android 5.0 Lollipop, and most likely the carrier versions will be up next. It’s one of the better phones released this year, has plenty of customization options, and now this Moto X deal makes it cheaper than ever.
