Galaxy S5, Note 4 & Note 3 Lollipop Update Details Emerge

New Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 Lollipop update details have emerged as Samsung works behind the scenes to push out a number of Samsung Galaxy Lollipop updates to users around the world.

In November, Google finally started pushing out its Android 5.0 Lollipop update, a massive update that delivers huge changes to the Android operating system. At the time, many of its Android partners confirmed Android 5.0 Lollipop release details. Samsung, however, chose to remain silent in the hours and days after the initial release.

Since then, we’ve seen Galaxy S4 Android 5.0 Lollipop update details emerge. We’ve seen Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 Lollipop update information surface. We’ve seen info arrive for the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note Edge. And we’ve seen the Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 5.0 Lollipop update start to push out for select users. Samsung’s been busy and it shows now sign of slowing down.

Over the past two days, a number of new Samsung Galaxy Lollipop update details have emerged as the company continues to test software for its stable of Galaxy smartphones and tablets.

Today, SamMobile leaked three upcoming Android 5.0.1 Lollipop updates. Android 5.0.1, Google’s bug fixer, will be heading to the Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 LTE-A sometime next year. Samsung recently confirmed the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 LTE-A updates for early 2015 though it did not outline any specific release dates.

The leaked updates are not available for download but they do showcase what the updates will look like when they arrive for users around the world. Unsurprisingly, Samsung’s Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update looks exactly like the Android 5.0 Lollipop update that’s emerged over and over again over the last few weeks. Those who are curious about the looks and features of Android 5.0 Lollipop would be wise to check out the videos the publication has posted.

It would appear that Samsung is making substantial progress on this trio of updates and the site claims that it would not be surprised if they all rolled out next month. Samsung still hasn’t confirmed anything though and the releases are highly dependent on the testing process. The Android testing process can be unpredictable and there’s always a chance that we’ll see delays.

In addition to these leaks, it appears that the Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.0 Lollipop update has leaked thanks to users on XDA-Developers. The update is for the N900 model and it will allow veteran Android users to get a version of Lollipop installed, right now, ahead of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.0 Lollipop release date.

Novice Galaxy Note 3 users and those who aren’t familiar with flashing software will want to avoid this update. Installing unofficial software can have unintended consequences. Those who aren’t adept at flashing will simply want to wait for the official Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.0 OTA to arrive. Samsung’s confirmed an arrival for early 2015 though like the others, it has yet to confirm any specific release dates.

Recently, French carrier SFR became one of the first international carriers to confirm Samsung Galaxy Lollipop update details when it confirmed a Galaxy S5 Lollipop update for December and a Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update for January. Both of those windows are ETAs and are not set in stone. The specific release dates will depend on the unpredictable testing process behind the scenes.

U.S. carriers remain silent about Android 5.0 Lollipop though we know that Sprint is currently testing the Galaxy S5 Android 5.0 Lollipop update in its lab. The company has yet to confirm a release date though it typically finds itself amongst the first carriers to major Android updates. In other words, a roll out could be on the horizon.
