Best iPad Air 2 Keyboard Cases

Published

on

The iPad Air 2 is the best iPad yet, but for some users, it’s not complete without a physical keyboard to pair with. Here are the best iPad Air 2 keyboard cases that you can buy.

While iOS comes with its own virtual on-screen keyboard, it’s not the best keyboard to use for long typing sessions, especially if you use your iPad constantly for note-taking during class or at work during meetings. This is where keyboard cases can come in handy.

There are a ton of iPad Air 2 keyboard cases to choose from, but there are only a small handful that truly work well. A good keyboard case needs to be sturdy and durable, as well as feel good while typing. Plus, other features can make or break a good keyboard case, including back-lit keys, battery life, and the ability to control iOS in other ways besides just typing.

Of course, any good keyboard case for the iPad Air 2 is going to add a bit of weight and bulk to the device, so you’ll certainly sacrifice a bit of portability in favor of having a good keyboard to along with your tablet.

While there’s nothing better than a true full-size keyboard (whether it’s on a laptop or for a desktop machine), accessory makers have at least gotten good at optimizing the experience to make a small, cramped keyboard as enjoyable as possible.

Without further ado, here are five iPad Air 2 keyboard cases that we think are really good and are worth a purchase, either for yourself or as a last-minute Christmas gift for that special someone.

Belkin QODE Ultimate

Belkin QODE Ultimate

Belkin makes all kinds of iPad accessories, but they should be known for their QODE series of iPad keyboard cases.

Most notably, the QODE Ultimate iPad Air 2 keyboard case is a solid option for those looking for a physical keyboard to accompany their iPad.

It features a chiclet-style keyboard with all of the keys you'd find on a normal keyboard, and it's backlit with three different brightness settings, allowing you to type away in the dark if need be.

The whole thing is made out of "aircraft-grade aluminum alloy," so it should be able to take a beating before it even thinks about quitting on you, and the battery claims are pretty good as well, with a full year of continuous use claimed by Belkin, although your mileage may vary.

The Belkin QODE Ultimate is available in black or white with a price tag of $150, which is a little steep, but it'll be money well spent.

I have an iPad 2 and I love the keyboard case I have so much that I wouldn’t want an iPad Air 2 until an equivalent case is available. The keyboard case I have is from New Trent and it cost way less than $50. The equivalent one for the iPad Air (previous version) is called the Airbender Air. What I like about it is that it is lightweight, it has a great keyboard, and that it easily switches between landscape and portrait display (something I have not seen in any other comparable keyboard case). I’m hoping New Trent will be coming out with their Airbender Air 2 (for iPad Air 2) really soon…

It’s not possible to click to review #2 from review #1
It’s like Kinect Xbox One has hijacked the links to the other reviews

I’d prefer waiting for the iPad Air Pro with built in keyboard!
