If you want your iPad Air 2 to essentially look like a mini laptop, the Zagg Slim Book keyboard case does a good job at accomplishing that.

The case essentially combines a keyboard with a normal iPad case and hinges them together like a laptop, turning the iPad Air 2 into a 9.7-inch laptop of sorts, and it looks really good. Plus, you can remove the iPad from the keyboard anytime and reattach it with ease.

The keyboard itself is backlit, which is nice for typing in the dark, and it has a battery life of around two years, which is absolutely incredible for an accessory like this. A two-year battery life essentially means you can charge it once and forget about it.

Because of the laptop-esque hinge, you can adjust the angle of the iPad to pretty much any angle imaginable, up to 135 degrees, which is usually more than most users need anyway.

Of course, a keyboard case like this does add over twice the thickness of the iPad Air 2 and adds a bit of weight, but it's still much more portable than a laptop would ever be.

The Slim Book iPad Air 2 keyboard case can be bought on Zagg's website for $129, although it is out of stock at the time of this writing.

I have an iPad 2 and I love the keyboard case I have so much that I wouldn’t want an iPad Air 2 until an equivalent case is available. The keyboard case I have is from New Trent and it cost way less than $50. The equivalent one for the iPad Air (previous version) is called the Airbender Air. What I like about it is that it is lightweight, it has a great keyboard, and that it easily switches between landscape and portrait display (something I have not seen in any other comparable keyboard case). I’m hoping New Trent will be coming out with their Airbender Air 2 (for iPad Air 2) really soon…

I’d prefer waiting for the iPad Air Pro with built in keyboard!
