2015 Nexus 6 Camera & Battery

Two areas that have always been an issue (for most) on Nexus smartphones have been battery life and the camera. Even the Nexus 6 had only an average at best 13 megapixel camera, even if it did have optical image stabilization. The battery was the best on any Nexus device to date, being 3,240 mAh, but this year it will be even better.

Seen in the image above is a chin or hump on the back of the Nexus 6. It certainly isn't pretty, but reportedly houses an all-new 20 Megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, 4k video recording, an extremely fast auto-focus, and a few other things. New to the Nexus 6 for 2015, is what appears to be a laser auto-focus, similar to what we've seen from LG the past few years. Then of course we see a fingerprint scanner on back as well.

One other important area in which we still don't have all the details, is regarding the battery. Considering this phone as an all aluminum design, dual front-facing speakers, and a great camera, there may not be enough room to fit the rumored 3,500 mAh battery. The device is smaller than the Nexus 6 last year, so we're not expecting Google to put such a big battery inside, but wish they would.

Most likely we'll see a 3,300 mAh battery or so inside the 2015 Nexus 6, but rumors state it's pretty big and will last nearly 2 days thanks to be 3,500 mAh. We'll have to wait and see.
