New Samsung Galaxy S6 release rumors continue to emerge as we push into CES 2015 and the new year and the latest treasure trove of information hints at a number of different Galaxy S6 release details including accessories, variants and more.

As we enter 2015, we’re starting to more about Samsung’s plans for the new year. Many of those details are focused on Samsung Galaxy Android 5.0 Lollipop updates that are confirmed for arrival in the early part of the year. We’ve also begun to see Samsung Galaxy S6 rumors outline Galaxy S6 specs, the Galaxy S6 design and the Samsung Galaxy S6 release date. The Galaxy S6 rumor mill is expected to pick up the pace in the weeks ahead and today, new information has emerged.

New Samsung Galaxy S6 release details have arrived a day ahead of the start of CES 2015 in Las Vegas, the massive tech trade show where Samsung’s rumored to be showing off the Galaxy S6 to selected partners. These new Galaxy S6 rumors outline a number of important, but alleged, details regarding key components of Samsung’s next big smartphone release.

First, SamMobile claims that the photos of the metal chassis that emerged yesterday out of France do not depict the Galaxy S6. Instead, the photos are of a Samsung Galaxy Alpha prototype. The leak was met with a ton of skepticism given Samsung’s iron grip on design leaks and it appears that that skepticism was warranted here.

This does not rule out an all-metal Samsung Galaxy S6 design though. Samsung’s rumored to be building the Galaxy S6 from the ground up and given the company’s use of metal in the Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4, it’s possible that the company will shift to a more premium design language with the Samsung Galaxy S6.

Second, a new alleged Galaxy S6 variant has been spotted in a manifest at Zauba. The manifest is for a SM-G925F prototype that is apparently heading to India for Research and Development (R&D) purposes. The model number is similar to what we’ve seen so far from the Galaxy S6 and it could be the rumored limited edition Galaxy S6 variant that has been swirling around in recent weeks.

Korean publication Asiae today fueled those rumors with a report that suggests that Samsung could opt to deliver a Galaxy S6 model that comes with a rounded screen like the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. The difference could be that this Galaxy S6 Edge variant could potentially come with two curved edges as opposed to the one on the Galaxy Note Edge. This model, like the Galaxy S6, is expected to be shown to select partners during CES 2015, perhaps in an attempt to gauge interest.

Like the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, this Galaxy S6 Edge would reportedly be a limited model and not widespread like the regular version of the Samsung Galaxy S6.

A number of alleged Galaxy S6 accessories have leaked as well. SamMobile’s outed several potential Galaxy S6 accessories including an S View Cover Case, wireless charger and a Flip Wallet case. Here’s the full list:

The publication also suggests that the Galaxy S6 will come with earbuds from well-known headphone maker Sennheiser. It’s not clear how this bundle might work yet but it appears that Samsung could perhaps partner with one of the world’s most respected headphone makers as it attempts to battle the likes of the iPhone 6, LG G3 and Moto X.

iPhone 6 Plus vs Galaxy S5 Specs

As for the Galaxy S6 specs, Galaxy S6 rumors continue to point to a premium phone and one that competes with the top devices on all levels. Galaxy S6 specs are said to include a large Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 810 processor, a 16MP-20MP rear camera, an upgraded front-facing camera, three storage options including a 128GB model, and a release on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon in the United States.
