Best House Hunting iPhone Apps

on

When it comes time to look for a new house to buy, the process can be pretty daunting, especially for first-time home buyers, but these house hunting iPhone apps will hopefully make the process easier for you.

Many people simply hire a realtor to do a lot of the work for them, like finding a house that fits their lifestyle and budget, as well as handling all the gritty paperwork, but even if you hire a realtor, you still may want to do some of your own house hunting. This is where your iPhone can come in handy.

Looking for a house isn’t especially difficult, but it can be time-consuming and there are a lot of things that you have to factor in. Plus, the decision to pick to a house shouldn’t be one to take lightly, as it’ll be your permanent home for at least a few years, depending on your future plans.

There are numerous apps available that can help you with your house search, but only a handful are truly worth using. If you’re getting into the housing market, here are the best house hunting iPhone apps that you can use to your advantage.

Zillow

Zillow is one of the most popular house-hunting services available, and its iPhone app makes it more convenient, allowing you to search for houses while on the go.

Zillow

The iPhone app lets you search for a home multiple ways, including from where you are using GPS, or you can type in an address or draw a custom region on the map. You can also filter search results by price, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, and even specific keywords in the listing.

You can also view ratings of the school system, as well as find out more information about foreclosure homes. You can also save houses that you like in order to automatically compile a list of your most-loved houses that you come across.

Trulia

Trulia is another extremely popular house-hunting service, and the Trulia iPhone app doesn’t disappoint either.

Trulia

A big feature is the ability to create a list of wants and needs and then receive notifications whenever a new house goes on the market that meets your criteria.

Furthermore, the app lets you search using a map and even look at crime rates, school systems and neighborhood amenities if applicable. You can even view full-screen photos of the house when you tap on one to view it, giving you a better look inside and around the yard.

Doorsteps Swipe

If you’ve ever thought about what a house-hunting app mixed with Tinder would look like, Doorsteps Swipe is it. The app takes the features of other traditional house-hunting apps, like Zillow and Trulia, and adds the user interface of Tinder where house hunters swipe either left or right in order to pass on a house or save it and check it out.

Doorsteps-Swipe

On top of that, you can set your own criteria as far as the number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, price, location, etc., as well as draw your own area on the map to search within that diameter.

Overall, it’s a fun app to use and puts an interesting spin on house hunting.

Homesnap

Looking for a more hands-on approach to house-hunting? Homesnap may be the app for you.

homesnap

Homesnap lets you take a photo of a house that’s for sale and get the low-down. You can see its price, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, and photos of the home in order to give you a better idea. Plus, you can get hidden details about the property, such as its selling history. Each house you snap is saved to your profile.

You can also search for houses the traditional way by searching for them within the app and getting a list of homes that you might be interested in.

Quicken Loans Mortgage Calculator

While not a house-hunting app exactly, Quicken Loans’ Mortgage Calculator iPhone app will quickly figure out whether or not you could afford a certain house that you’re interested in.

mortgage-calc

The app has you enter in the house’s price, your down payment amount, and the interest rate to come up with a monthly cost that includes the mortgage payment, as well as insurance costs and taxes that you’ll have to pay.

It’s pretty basic to use, but it can give you a good idea on what you can expect to pay every month for a new house that you might buy.

There are really only 3 real estate apps that are solid which are trulia, realtor.com, and zillow. These apps have great search features for checking prices, distance, owning, and renting. They all also have great pictures for properties and contacting agents. For more on each of these apps check this article out. https://goo.gl/4lZhQu
