The device has been somewhat popular along with the new Moto X, and here we’ll quickly show you how to take a screenshot on the DROID Turbo.

The DROID Turbo has a lot of features and options to offer owners, and now that the device has been readily available for a few months we’re starting to get more and more questions about it. Sometimes the easiest way to share a funny picture, save a text message for later, or show someone something on your phone is to take a screenshot, or capture what is being shown on the display, then send it in a text or email as an image. It’s extremely useful, and very easy to do once you know how. It’s been the same on most Android devices for years, and past the break we’ll explain how.

If you’ve ever owned or used an Android device in the past few years you’ll be right at home and probably won’t even need to search how. However, if you’re new to smartphones, an Android convert leaving the iPhone or Windows Phone, or have previously only used Samsung devices you’ll want to know how. Below are the few simple steps you’ll need to take in order to capture and save a screenshot.

For those confused. A screenshot (or screencap) is essentially our smartphones capturing and saving whatever is on the screen. This can then be edited or cropped to get exactly what you want, and comes in extremely handy for a variety of uses. Anything from sharing emails, saving pictures on social sites, and many other things.

Instructions

Without taking forever to explain it, here’s how to take a screenshot on the DROID Turbo.

All you’ll need to do is simply push and hold both the power button and the volume down key at the same time. Push both at exactly the same time, hold for a moment, and let go. It’s that easy, and you’ll hear a camera shutter-like sound and see a visual screen capture effect or animation right on that big 5.2-inch Quad-HD display.

Turbo-side

With both the power and volume buttons being on the same side, and the DROID Turbo being a fairly large smartphone, you’ll likely need two hands to perform this task. That, or simply use one hand and turn the phone sideways to get a good angle to quickly long-press both buttons. Sometimes this takes a few times to perfect the timing for beginners, but it’s really easy.

From here you’ll see the screen capture has been saved. It is now accessible in the notification pulldown bar to view, share, or even edit, and you can also head into the phones gallery app and find it for more sharing options, or to edit it with the editing software of your choice.

If you try and it doesn’t work, try again. It’s all about hitting them at the same time with a brief pause, then letting go. Timing is everything, and it’s easy one you figure it out.

You’re all done and that’s all there is to it. This same method works on almost all Android smartphones and tablets that aren’t a Samsung. As they want you to hit power and the home button instead. The more you know, the better. Enjoy!

That was one long article for “press and hold the power button and volume down button at the same time”

OMG really? What a crock. Practice? Samsung, swipe the screen. Simple, no coordination required. Poor, poor design.
