Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Prep Starts

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy S6 launch date continues to inch closer and prep work for the Samsung Galaxy S6 release continues behind the scenes as Samsung prepares for its biggest smartphone launch of the year.

As we push onward to Samsung’s March 1st Unpacked event in Barcelona, Spain, we continue to see Galaxy S6 rumors and leaks emerge at an breakneck pace. Over the past month, we’ve seen rumors point to the Galaxy S6 specs, Galaxy S6 design, Galaxy S6 launch date, and the elusive Samsung Galaxy S6 release date. Many of those rumors have firmed up ahead of Samsung’s event.

We’ve also seen companies start preparing for the inevitable release of the Galaxy S6. Case-makers have shown off some of their wares ahead of time and carriers have released teaser pages in an attempt to get an edge on their rivals. Today, Samsung itself is getting in on the fun and it looks like the company is working behind the scenes on the upcoming Galaxy S6 release.

Galaxy Club recently discovered user manuals for two Galaxy S6 models lurking on the company’s Finnish and Swedish arms. While placeholders, they did utilize the two model numbers that we’ve seen attached to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge all along. The user manuals have since been pulled but screenshots etch these user manuals Galaxy S6 SM G920X and Galaxy S6 Edge SM G925X into the annals of history.

It’s clear that Samsung is starting to inch closer and closer to the Galaxy S6 release and this website prep is just another sign that something big is about to happen in the near future. The company reserves its Unpacked launch events for big products like the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note and with Galaxy S6 rumors all pointing to an arrival at the beginning of March, it’s clear that we’ll see this preparation come to a head soon.

This leak comes on the heels of a number of new Galaxy S6 rumors that outline alleged Galaxy S6 specs and features. A leak last week claims to show off both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, the latter with its curved display, for the first time. Samsung is well known for keeping its designs under lock and key ahead of launch though rumors have converged on a few different Galaxy S6 aspects including the curved display and premium build materials.

Galaxy S6 rumors have been adamant about a design language change from plastic to premium materials and rumors have centered on metal design elements, perhaps similar to the metal found on the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Alpha. There’s also chatter about the use of glass, potentially on the back of the device. Galaxy S6 rumors pointed to an all-metal form factor as well.

Samsung Galaxy S6 rumors point to a collection of high-powered specifications including a souped up Quad HD display, Exynos 64-bit processor, 20MP camera with OIS, wireless charging, a new payment system, four new colors, and a release on all five major carriers in the United States which includes AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon.

Samsung’s Galaxy S6 release date remains out of reach though rumors have pointed to an arrival two to three weeks earlier than usual. Samsung’s Galaxy S typically arrives about a month after launch. The Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4 both arrived in April. If the Galaxy S6 release were to occur early, it would likely fall inside late March or early April.

Look for Galaxy S6 rumors to continue to pick up steam as we approach Samsung’s big launch date and as companies continue to fiddle with Galaxy S6 plans behind the scenes.
