HTC One M9 Concept Images Bring Rumors to Life

Published

on

The HTC One M9 is one of the most anticipated smartphones coming in the first half of 2015, and after most the recent leaks were reported as fake, some new concept renders merging all the leaks into one have surfaced giving us our best look yet at what could be coming next month.

In previous years HTC had a hard time keeping wraps on their next smartphone, with the HTC One M8 leaking in full multiple times before the official unveiling. We thought the same was happening this year with tons of photos last month, but then reports and images surfaced suggesting they were all fakes to hide the final design.

Famed leakster @evleaks confirmed they were all fake, then leaked a render of what could be the real HTC One M9, and its bigger brother. Now today we have an entire gallery of beautiful concept renders bringing all those rumors to life and giving us our first taste of what the HTC One M9 could look like.

On March 1st HTC will be hosting an event in Barcelona, Spain, for the annual Mobile World Congress tradeshow to formally announce and showcase the new smartphone. It’s worth noting that the same day is when Samsung’s Galaxy S6 will be revealed, so this will be an important day for many potential smartphone buyers.

If many of the leaks and reports are correct, the photos above and below could be a fairly accurate representation of what will be announced on March 1st. Last year HTC announced and released the smartphone on the same day, March 27th, and we could be looking at the same approach this year in an attempt to beat Samsung’s Galaxy S6 to market. We here at GottaBeMobile have our own renders of the Galaxy S6 as well, below, as a comparison for those interested.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 will be two of the biggest smartphones of the year, and both will be revealed in less than a month. The March 1st date is quickly approaching, and below are more details and renders of the new HTC One M9.

Thanks to PhoneDesigner, the photos here today are concept renders based on leaks and rumors all blend into one where he’s made images of what they think the new smartphone could look like. They may not be 100% accurate, but are still fun to look at as we wait for the actual release date to arrive.

Rumor has it the HTC One M9 will retain the 5-inch screen size from last year, or be increased to 5.2-inches, but slim bezels will keep the overall size of the device to a minimum. Making for a larger display in the same size package for portability.  The front camera is now a 4 Ultrapixel lens like what was on the rear on previous models, and the back will now be highlighted with a 20.7 megapixel camera.

One major problem in the past has been the impressive but large dual Boomsound front speakers, and the black HTC bars and bezels around the screen, like on the HTC One M8. This made the device rather tall, and turned many potential buyers to look at the Galaxy S5 or LG G3. This year though, we’re hearing HTC has an edge-to-edge glass front, the dual speakers have been improved and moved to the edges, and most of the bezels are completely gone. Making it look rather stunning. The images here add those rumors, and is part of what makes the phone look so impressive.

The other details are an 8-core Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a micro-SD slot for extra storage, and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on board. Then of course we can expect HTC Sense 7.0 user interface changes, some improved features to take advantage of the new 20.7 megapixel camera, and more.

Rumor has it the HTC One M9 will keep the same brushed aluminum design, be faster and sleeker than ever, have a bigger 2,880 or 3,000 mAh battery for all-day usage, and come in the same three colors as last year: Silver, Grey and Gold.

There are also a few reports of a new HTC One Max with a bigger 5.5 or 5.7-inch display and more coming in the second half of the year, but it also may get announced and shown off on March 1st. It’s too early to tell, but in a few weeks time all will be revealed so stay tuned.
