Sling TV Release Continues to Amazon Fire TV Devices

Just days after the official Sling TV release date today Dish and Amazon have some exciting news regarding watching live TV on our Android devices. More specifically the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV stick. Earlier this week Dish officially launched Sling TV to the public, and now it’s available on more platforms for easy viewing.

Earlier this year at CES 2015 Dish announced a brand new product called Sling TV. This impressive new service is a $20 a month subscription and companion app that lets you watch a collection of live TV including ESPN online on your Xbox One, Amazon Fire TV, Nexus Player, Roku, Mac, PC, as well as both Android and iOS without a regular cable subscription.

The initial release was limited to Android or iOS devices, PC and Mac, the Roku family and media streaming and a few other devices, but a few main options were left out. Those being the Amazon Fire TV, the Fire TV stick, and Google’s Nexus player. Today two of the three are now officially supported.

What this means is you can now watch a collection of live TV, sports, movies, cartoons and more over the internet right from the Amazon Fire TV and Stick, making the two media devices even more flexible, and offering more options than ever for content consumption.

Essentially Sling TV offers a collection of some of the most popular channels from regular cable, without the huge packages and cable prices, delivering the essentials for only $20 a month to an array of our devices. Nearly 17 premium channels like Disney, AMC and ESPN are included in the regular $20 a month package, and additional channels can be added for small $5 increases to your contract-free monthly payments.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s available from Sling TV, all of which can now be installed and viewed on any Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV stick device.

Along with the announcement of Sling TV being compatible with the Amazon Fire TV and Stick today, Amazon also confirmed the additions of Fox Sports Go, TED, WSJ Live, and some more games for its devices.
