iPhone 6s Rumors Gain Steam with New Concept

A realistic looking iPhone 6s concept has emerged just as iPhone 6s rumors have started to pick up.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus probably aren’t going anywhere anytime soon but that hasn’t stopped iPhone 6s rumors from heating up in the early part of the year. iPhone 6s rumors have started to pick up and tease potential iPhone 6s specs and features ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S6 release and HTC One M9 release. And while they haven’t started to firm up, designers are starting to dream up their own iPhone 6s concepts ahead of Apple’s rumored release.

Our friend Martin Hajek has cooked up one of the first realistic iPhone 6s concepts to date. His iPhone 6s concept looks similar to the iPhone 6 though it brings in a new rose gold color. He pairs the new iPhone color next to a rose gold Apple Watch Edition that’s set to retail for $10,000 when it arrives in late April. iPhone 6s rumors haven’t pointed to a high-priced iPhone model but this iPhone 6s concept shows us what one could look like if Apple did decide to offer a $10,000+ iPhone.

Hajek’s iPhone 6s concept unsurprisingly looks like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Apple’s well known for keeping its designs around for two years before introducing something new. The company often tweaks and improves its designs, the iPhone 5s came with Touch ID embedded in the home button, but the overall look and feel has historically been quite similar.

The iPhone 6s design remains shrouded in mystery though we have seen iPhone 6s rumors hint at some potential additions including a new and improved Touch ID sensor.

The rumor, which comes from respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, suggests that the iPhone 6s will come with an upgraded sensor that cuts down on the amount of sensor errors incurred by iPhone users.

Apple’s new iPhone 6s is also expected to include an 8MP camera sensor in the rear that will almost certainly come with improvements, a boost in overall battery life, an Apple Watch-like display that includes “Force Touch” technology, and a design that incorporates water resistant properties. The device should also arrive with Apple’s brand new iOS 9 update, an update that’s rumored for arrival this fall.

Apple is already testing iOS 9 in some capacity and a recent 9to5Mac report outlined a big part of this update as fixing bugs and improving performance and the stability of the iPhone and iPad. The iOS 9 update details will come into focus in the June, when we expect to see Tim Cook take the stage at WWDC 2015 to talk about its latest software advancements.

The iOS 9 update is also expected to be included in Apple’s public beta program. The public iOS 9 beta will apparently start this summer, likely after WWDC 2015, and it could allow thousands of iPhone and iPad users that aren’t registered in the beta program to try the software ahead of its arrival alongside a new iPhone 6s. Apple officially started its public iOS beta with its iOS 8 beta 3 which was released last week.

A public iOS 9 beta is rumored for release this summer to let regular users test the iOS 9 update before the full release.

iPhone 6s rumors will undoubtedly continue throughout the year as Apple makes progress with its release. For now, high-end Android smartphones like the Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 will compete against the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, neither of which come in a rose gold color option.

We should also see designers continue to tease their own versions of the iPhone 6s and as rumors pick up, so will the accuracy of those concepts. We saw tons of realistic iPhone 6 concepts emerge ahead of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus release in September.
