Published

on

While Google is currently hosting an impressive Nexus 6 deal offering buying $50 back in the form of a Google Play gift card, today we have even better news for those looking to snag the Verizon Nexus 6. After all carriers offered the phone in November, the Verizon Nexus 6 release was delayed by over four months, and is finally available in stores starting today.

In October the Nexus 6 was announced and was confirmed to be headed to all five major carriers, including Verizon. It is their first Nexus device in years, and now after four months of waiting the Verizon Nexus 6 release is finally here. It was available online last week, and as of today is available in stores nationwide. That said, you may want to head to Best Buy instead.

In January Expansys offered up the phone for about $50 off, and Google has something similar going on right now. However, those looking to sign a contract and get the new Nexus 6 from Verizon, Best Buy has an excellent Nexus 6 deal today, that is worth checking out. Read on for more details.

After months and months waiting, countless rumors, and more, Verizon now has the fully updated Nexus 6 running the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop software update. The phone is $649 outright for the 32GB Midnight Blue Nexus 6, $249 with a new 2-year contract, or $27 and some change on monthly payment plans with Verizon Edge.

Yes, the Verizon Nexus 6 is $249 with a new 2-year contract. That said, if you’re interested in buying one you’ll likely want to drive a few minutes down to road to a nearby Best Buy retail store, as they’re offering the Verizon Nexus 6 for only $99 with a new 2-year contract. Saving buyers $150 on the Verizon Nexus 6.

This morning the impressive $99 price was listed on BestBuy.com as shown in the image above, but it’s since been returned to the same $249 asking price. We’re hearing the $99 deal is in-stores only, but you may want to call your nearby Best Buy to confirm before heading down and getting the brand new smartphone.

Verizon, like all other US carriers, is only offering the 32GB Blue Nexus 6. The 64GB model and white color option is only available from the Google store, or from Motorola.com. It’s worth noting that those models work perfectly fine on Verizon, with an accompanying SIM card, but if you need to get it on contract, Best Buy or Verizon is your best bet.

For more details on the Nexus 6 check out our review above. The Verizon Nexus 6 is exactly the same as all others, although it runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and features VoLTE HD Voice calling feature.

This means buyers will enjoy the same 5.96-inch Quad-HD 2560 x 1440 HD display, dual front facing speakers, quad-core processor with 3GB of RAM, and the excellent 13 megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization. The Nexus 6 appears to run rather excellent with Android 5.1 Lollipop, and the Verizon model should be the same as all the rest.

If you’ve been waiting to get the Nexus 6 specifically from Verizon, now would be a good time. It’s in stores as of today, March 19th, and also available online for those interested.

I’m pretty skeptical about this. I ran down to Best Buy this morning to take advantage of this “deal” and they told me they weren’t carrying it in store and I’d have to order online. But the online price is at $250. I even asked the guy at Best Buy to check other stores as and he said no stores in the state are selling the Nexus 6.

This leads me to believe the “deal” was actually a mistake and they didn’t intend to sell it at that price.

It’s a shame too since I was ready to pull the trigger today!
