The Samsung Galaxy S5 Lollipop release in the United States continues to make progress as another major US carrier has confirmed plans to release a Samsung Galaxy S5 Lollipop update.

In the weeks since the Galaxy S5 Lollipop update’s initial release, we’ve seen the update make substantial progress around the world including here in the United States. In the US, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and C Spire are all offering their own versions of the Galaxy S5 Lollipop update. Verizon, the nation’s largest carrier, has actually produced two Galaxy S5 Lollipop updates in 2015.

Today, the Galaxy S5 Lollipop update is set to make even more progress as U.S. Cellular, the nation’s fifth largest carrier, has confirmed a Galaxy S5 Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its users.

The U.S. Cellular Galaxy S5 Lollipop update has appeared on the carrier’s Android update page today, a sign that the roll out should start rolling out in the imminent future. The listing confirms the software as version Android 5.0.1 Lollipop and the base band version of the software as G900R4VXU1BOC1. It also outlines tips on how the get the update on board the device as soon as possible.

Those with the U.S. Cellular Galaxy S5 can now check for the update in the device’s settings or attempt to skip the OTA through the Samsung Kies PC companion application. The OTA process should take several days to complete so those that don’t go through Samsung Kies will want to remain patient as U.S. Cellular works to get the update out to all of its Galaxy S5 users.

This new Galaxy S5 Lollipop release in the United States should mirror the other updates that have rolled out inside the US. This means that it should be carrying a number of substantial upgrades for the Galaxy S5 including changes to the lock screen and Google’s brand new Material Design. It’s the Galaxy S5’s biggest update since the arrival of Android 4.4.4 KitKat last year.

There is now just one major Galaxy S5 Lollipop release left to go in the United States. The AT&T Galaxy S5 Lollipop update is confirmed but the carrier still hasn’t released the software or outlined a specific release date for its customers. The update is expected to roll out in the near future now that the carrier has managed to push out updates for the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 3.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Lollipop update is making solid progress in the months after its initial release back in December. It’s currently rolling out to the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S5 Active and it’s also expected to start rolling out for the Galaxy S5 mini at some point during the second quarter. The second quarter spans from April to June.

Samsung’s Galaxy S5 Lollipop update has been joined by several other Lollipop roll outs including upgrades to the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, and others. Of those, only the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop updates are rolling out inside the United States. The Galaxy Note Edge Lollipop update is confirmed thanks to T-Mobile but we still haven’t seen any Galaxy S4 Lollipop details emerge.

The company’s Android Lollipop release has been plagued with issues and Galaxy S5 Lollipop problems continue to plague users in the weeks after its release. Galaxy S5 users have  encountered lag, battery life issues, and connectivity problems and these problems have forced Samsung to halt at least two updates including the upgrade for the Verizon Galaxy S5.

While there is certain;y going to be a temptation to install the update today, U.S. Cellular Galaxy S5 users will want to keep those Galaxy S5 Lollipop problems in mind before making the move from Android 4.4 to Android 5.0.

That’s a good news for the S5 users. The S4 is seeding Lollipop, too!

AT&T is officially the laughing stock of the update push here, such a disgrace. I pay too much money to deal with this kind of delay.

At least that is a Samsung issue if they haven’t gotten it from them yet. AT&T has been telling S5 users that it is coming soon, they are working on it so stay tuned for over a month now….over a month! Apparently their definition of “soon” is different than everyone else’s.

To be well honest let them work out the bugs…Who cares we are last to do the update. There so much issues going on with this update on all the other carriers it’s not even funny. Would you rather not be able to text anyone, have super hot battery, factory reset the phone, and google play crashing?

True, they just need to be honest with customers though instead of saying soon and taking months after that. The update also better be flawless if they are going to continue taking their time. At this point I am actually more irritated by the fact that it has been over a month since they told S5 users it would be soon and that they are still saying the same basic thing, in fact it has gotten worse as they are now saying hopefully soon and not a definite soon like they originally said. If they would just release a statement saying they ran into some bugs they are fixing and that they were going to go straight to 5.0.2 or 5.1 instead of the 5.0.1 that we will mother likely end up with people wouldn’t be irritated and would be willing to wait longer for it. It’s all about communication and honesty to the consumer.
