Samsung Android 5.1 Release: 10 Things You Can Count On

More Android 5.1 Updates

We haven't seen credible rumors hint at Android 5.1 updates for other Galaxy smartphones and tablets but we would be extremely surprised if Samsung limited Android 5.1, its features and bug fixes to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. 

At the very least, we'd expect some version of Android 5.1 to be the version of software that arrives on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 in the fall and Galaxy S6 Active in the summer.

Google is rumored to be working on an Android M update but the name implies that a release is probably not going to happen in late May after Google I/O. Android Lollipop started as Android L before it changed to Android Lollipop in November. 

We also wouldn't be shocked if Samsung opted to release Android 5.1 for other big name devices like the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4. Count on other devices getting Android 5.1 and its changes in the future.
